Only 50 range sessions of 100 balls each will enable you to answer that question

Just so I'm clear............ a HUNDRED range balls in ONE session?

How many days does each range session take?

That's a very important question PG but I feel I need to allow Mr par to work that out - if you give someone all the answers they don't own the solution the same as if they've contributed to the discovery process themselves

Suffice to say you don't want to rush it

Straight to left. Without question!
How there could possibly be any other discussion is beyond me but each to their own of course.

You know that Bump
I know that
But I felt it was important for par's journey to work through it himself - people rarely learn from being told, they learn best from experiencing

Depends on the shot at hand, ideally the answer is "all of the above" ..... might take a while though to perfect all 3.

Straight is the most efficient.

Any curve is the result of applying some energy to the sideways spin in lieu of forward momentum.

Of course, that is subject to whether the player can actually hit it straight.

So what are the odds of actually hitting it "perfectly" straight at 100mph, when you have an inclined swing plane, with a curved clubface that is also rotating ..... coming into contact with a round ball?

Straight may well be the most efficient, but its also the most unlikely thing to ever occur in our lifetimes.

Usually only goes straight when you hold the shot up into a cross wind. That doesn't mean it has 0 rpm of side spin though.

Straight I can do, sometimes.

100mph I can't.

Okay good. Sounds like I am on track after all. I've had seven range sessions this decade and I'm easily on to my second hundred balls. The people at the range do get sick of asking me to stop taking the unused bucket home though I've noticed........
