Oh wait, you weren't sure if you could recharge a standard CR2 battery or not?

Sorry I couldn't compute that level of dumbfuckery.

You can't put the standard batteries in a charger, the normal ones can be put in the microwave on low.
35 seconds for one AA, 60 seconds for 2 AA.
Not sure of the timings for AAA, probably less I guess

Good topic

I can't remember how long I've had my range finder for exactly - maybe close to a year - and had to replace the batteries once

However I bought it second hand so not sure how old the batteries already were - so I'm it going to be a big help to you to ind out how long your batteries should last

I use 18650 rechargeable in some night vision scopes and they are definitely the cheaper option in the long run ..... would suggest steering clear of EBAY cheapies from China.

Better off buying better quality batteries from Battery World or equivalent....

I'm getting pretty tired of buying new batteries for my el cheapo rangefinder. I go through probably 4-6 every year.

I realise you can get them for >$5 on ebay but it seems like a waste.
Has anybody ever bought a charger they would recommend? Do you need to buy special rechargeable CR2 batteries to use or can you use the normal brands?

I've been using the ultrafire rechargeable ones off eBay for the last 2-3 years

Do you guys have a decent charger for them or did you just get one of the wall chargers?

You need a charger that suits the battery, both physically and electrically.

Im pretty sure it's the fact that it is on sometimes when I leave it out if the case. I often just chuck it in the back of the car and if one of the buttons are pressed it will suck the juice. Sometimes the batteries last ages, other times not.

Again, not the point of the thread.

Have you tried turning the battery around at the end of your game so it doesn't work/use up charge.   Something tells me if you are such a slacko....you'll probably forget to put them in the charger, if you had one.   :P

I could just put it in the case so it doesn't use the charge up, that would be as easy as turning the battery upside down.

But it also seems more environmentally friendly to get rechargeable ones anyway, keep them out of landfill and all that.

I can just put the dead battery in my pocket so at least I will take it in to the house after my round. Whether or not it goes into the charger from there is another question all together :)
