Taking them in my light carry bag along with 2 pairs of spikeless shoes. Plus a scrubbing brush to give them a good clean before returning home.

The guys went to Burma last year and quarantine just wanted to check their shoes.

I've been to Phnom Pehn and Siem Reap

In PP try to sneak a round in at City Golf, it's a pisser of a course. Nine hole par 3. it took me 40 minutes to play. Some of the holes are about 50 yards long, some of them though would make excellent Par 3's anywhere  I really enjoyed it cost about $30 US with clubs and caddy Don't forget to tip the caddies! They earn bugger all and that $5 you give them at the end of the round goes a long way

In SIem Reap try to go a bit further afield, the most dramatic temple I went to was Beng Melea which is a fair way out of town.

Some of the ones close to town are excellent also Bayon and Ta Prohm are both outstanding the last of which from memory is the one Lara Croft visited in Tomb Raider

There is a town on the Tonle Sap lake well worth a look. It's a stilt village and looks like a scene from the Kevin Costner film Water World

from memory it's near the Booyoung course so you could play in the morning and then head there afterwards

In SR all the restaurants are concentrated on Pub St so your accommodation should be near there.

I played four out of the five course in PP and Garden City is by far the stand out in PP so whoever did your planning did a good job. It's not cheap though. The three in Siem Reap are all expensive also.

Siem Reap is my all time favourite place I've visited I would recommend it to literally anyone and would think less of someone who didn't like it

Remember to take US notes, you'll get change in the local currency but the greenback is accepted everywhere including the golf courses

Two sleeps and the Laos / Cambodia Open production starts. Getting a worse thinking about it.

Round 1 of 7 is on Tuesday at the Long Vien course near Vientianne.

The internal early market, that hasn't yet opened on Betfair, has me as a $3.25 second favourite behind the infamous Bob Proffit. As a new entrant on the tour I'm being kept safe. Nobody really knows my drinking stamina or susceptibility to the tummy bugs.

I do recommend you keep an eye on Betfair and this thread. I'm guaranteed to give you inside information as to when to bet and lay.

Solid practice session today with putter number 7 was very successful. Nailing every putt inside 4' and nearly all inside 6'. I'm betting on the greens being slow or average speed. If they're slick I'm in deep doodoo.

Can't be stuffed taking more than 14 clubs.

3w mini driver is in rather than 2h so as to keep the ball in play.

First look at Long Vien shows more blue than green on the course map. Typical resort course so the emphasis will be on keeping the ball dry whilst the rest of the field is drowned. Taking 21 Orange Vokeys which should get me through 7 rounds if I am to win. Given I did StAB and National Open courses with the one ball I should bring at least 10 home with the trophy.

Johnny, a dodgy Irishman, who's gone out to his cap point represents the main opposition. A 14 player with 18 start, like me, will be hard to beat.

Bruther Brendan, a militant Unionist and non-Drinker is the Yellow peril. Much hype but as a non-drinker is more susceptible to a dose (shites or other types as he's single).

Preparation will be crucial. I might go for BoG on Sunday night and then ease off on Monday. A subtle showing of immature drinking habits may well get my price to ease.

Will be great fun

Why do senior citizens always drop the names of people you have never met in their stories?
I've noticed people from the bush do it too.
It's farkin weird.
