Or have both, with the trackman providing the flight and distance with probable location to gps coordinates that the drone could then fly to.

You play cricket on the golf course? No wonder you get annoyed.

Maybe quieter and easier to have an extra caddie to go in front and watch the balls flight and landing area.
Could call them something like a Fore Caddie??

I am trying to visualize Saturday com, with a field of over 150, everyone with a drone to follow their ball.Sounds like a serious health hazard. :) :)

I am thinking of a "follow me" drone for my birthday next month and I had an idea to write some machine vision software to follow the ball as you hit it and fly as soon as the ball is hit and fly to roughly where it went (roughly of course because it could never really track, unless I integrate it with Flightscope mevo or something) while also filming your round.

Anyone think this would be a cool "ultimate golf toy" ?? The Parrot Bebop 2 Follow Me drone seems the best fit ... if integrating a Mevo it would be around $1500 all up for this toy.

With modern tech and playing etiquette this may not work now but in the future with new tech, less intrusive drones, who knows this may be cool to see your game from a totally different perspective. People used to say iron shafts were stupid!  well probably did!;)

Not if players are allowed to carry shotguns and it's 'drone hunting season', assuming those with shotguns know how to be safe with them.

A drone may not be as far fetched an idea as Bubba Watson hovercraft: or his jetpack:

4.5 balls lost per round. The '4' I understand, but who plays with half a ball?

You both need a time out to think about what you've done.
