WAIT ...

Hang on.

Are you saying I could be hitting it left because the fitting is wrong?

Sheesh, there goes my confidence in the new clubs.

Not at all - you could have been fit so you'll start ingraining better habits to correct that leftness.

But if your swing was all good and it say short irons were noticabley going left because the clubs were too upright, I'd say the fitting was wrong.

The fitting will measure swing speed and the shaft selection would be based on what the fitter believes will get you the best results.
Club head could be anything you wanted.
My experience was very good and I am still in love with the iron set I got and the shaft I got for my Driver.
All done by professionals who were polite and looked after my best interests.
After lessons I now realise it will take a lot of buckets down at the range and many practice rounds to improve my game. Not the clubs I got. They definitely help. My 6i goes about 130m with a high trajectory and 1 to 2 foot bounce/roll. They now stop constantly within that distance on all my approach shots because I have been shown how to set up and produce a swing to achieve this result.
This is how my fitting and set is meant to work. Took me a while to get there.
7w is my 150m club. LoL.

Okay negative nancys
Club fitting works
I played my second round today at my new home track no range finder only yardage book
Never played the 19th hole before hit
A Pure 6 iron to the length of of putter
Proper club fitting takes a bit of time about. 6 months
I am a disciple of TGP that little shop in old Dandenong road
As moly used to say do yourselves a favour and go and gave a proper Club Fit

Sorry, the tongue in my cheek didn't translate well.

Totally agree. I have no doubt. me pulling them left, is a direct result of club path (out to in)

More practise deperately needed - keen, but weather just not good for it.

Yep swear by fitting as well. My clubs have never felt better nor myself confident over them. To me it eliminates any question mark about where the issue might be.

Although my score didn't translate yesterday I hit some great shots when I put the right swing on them. I had my lies and lofts adjusted Saturday morning and while playing yesterday I noticed chalk and cheese difference between the before and after.

Honestly to me its a feel thing and I know when my swing is off or when a club is incorrect. Without getting things adjusted and fitted correctly I would still be in no mans land blaming clubs and not trying to fix swing faults.

As a left handed using x flex clubs being fitted correctly is very very difficult. Most clubs are trial and error for me even when i have been fitted the people fitting me try and change what has worked in the past and make their brand work for me with what they have. Personally i have learned to trust my local golf shop and one bloke in particular. Other than that to many variables eg brand alignment, profit etc come into it!
