Are these guys serious??? Threaten strike action due to the fact that the NRL won't give them a fair share of the cake, that ultimately the public provide, along with sponsors and funding from
tV rights???

FFS, if I threatened strike action for a fair share of the golf clubs funds, I would be out on my arse, quick as blink.

People are roped at the games with prices of food and drinks, jersey prices are bullshit.

Go on strike see if I care, I don't give a flying fcuk.

Dont give a fcuk who wins origin as the refs will fcuk it anyway.

Nah I mean, all the top tier players earn waaaaaay more than the plebs of the team, give those blokes a bigger share, but not the marque players.

You have to say by definition someone is entitled to a fair share

But yeah - they're the ones busting their arses - don't see why the big shots should get all the cream

Let's take cherry -Evans a few years ago, whatever exorbitant amount he was to be paid over ten years far and above what the rest of the team were being paid.... doesn't make for team harmony and solidarity

They're fighting to raise the minimum wage more than anything. Also their proposal is incremented increases to $9.9m salary cap. They also want to take ownership of their personal image and be able to market their name on their own. I don't think their terms are unreasonable and the only reason they are mentioning industrial action is because the NRL refuse to bargain. They're not even willing to negotiate. Also, the strike action will take place at the RLWC not in the NRL season or during origin so it won't affect any teams.

who cares?

Its a self-regulated free market where they are entitled to push for what they want, and the NRL are entitled to push back.

The argument for "sharing the spoils" among team mates is preposterous.

Try asking Messi/Ronaldo/Jordan et al to share their pay packet with the team....

At some stage the amount Greenburg uses to "run" the NRL will be released. This seems to be the issue with the players.

The minimum wage increase seems reasonably fair given the extra money coming into the game.
