Let's look at the situation in real terms rather than be a smart ass. The figures show the numbers, not the percentages of those on welfare, if we look at percentages Caboolture is way down on NSW and Victoria.

Caboolture golf club was in trouble and I, that is me single handed saved them.

I am on welfare, the problem I have is when I go for an interview, I am in such good condition, they will not believe how old I am, they keep insisting my birth certificate is forged, so I have to keep turning up until I can prove otherwise. This has given me an ideal opportunity to increase club membership.

Most dole recipients like to play golf, it is unfortunately out of their price range playing casual. They never considered joining a club until I explained the side benefits.

- as the course is full in the morning due to comps, they can stay in bed until around noon and then make their way to the club

- the roads are more clear that time of the day and there is less chance of being stopped with a check by the local constabulary, so the night before is less important

- playing slow will not be a problem as there will not be too many on the course, playing five days a week and keeping fit is also a benefit, by the time the game is finished you will be sober so driving home at a premium being stopped time is OK

- You can join a golf forum and talk golf, at the same time be a real *******, take the pee out of everyone and pass it off as a joke. They will fight back, be banned and you have the last laugh, this is more fun that going to the local pub and having a fight, it is also safer.

- most job interviews are early in the day so golf will not be affected.

- you are doing the local area a service because your continued membership at the club is keeping others employed, you are doing the government a service as these then will not need the dole.

- So you see, being out of work is beneficial to the community, if you use your time correctly the government wins, and the beer is cheaper at the golf club.

- my dole payments are more than offset by my endeavours at the local office, it's been so popular, they are starting their own golf league and most are now "A" graders.

- the club wins, the government wins, golf has more "A" graders, golf forums are used more, the unemployed are happier and fitter, everyone wins.

The end.

Victoria Park, and St Lucia are both Council owned courses (so usually fairly easy to get on i think) that are within 10 mins of cbd (vic park closer to 5). Indooroopilly is a couple hundred meters away from Indooroopilly, mint course but might be harder to get on. Pacific is a bit further out. about 25 mins from cbd. Ashgrove is the sleeper pick, but i really have no experience with it sorry.

Ashgrove was their choice and they said it was a great track, enjoyed it.
