Using Another Players Club

can a player use another players club in a stroke play event .player a walked to tee with wrong club , player b loaned him his club and declared it out of play .is there any penalties to either player

The player must not add or borrow any club selected for play by any other person playing on the course.

 

Penalty: Two strokes for each hole at which any breach occurred; maximum penalty per round - Four strokes (two strokes at each of the first two holes at which any breach occurred).

Not so.  The player whose club was borrowed can get his club back and continue to use it.  See Decision 4-4a/12
