If Telstra (and if TPG are reselling Telstra) this is a good place to start:

http://servicestatus.telstra.com/

punch in your postcode and see if any issues are around.

Cheers Joe.

Thats ecactly yhe issues we are having.
Except that the speed isnt even enough till run a speed test at home.

TheTPG map says we are roughly 3000m line of sight with an approx cable length of 3500m.

I dont even know what to expect with those numbers!

I assume you emailed the address the TPG staff in the thread gave?

At 3500m cable run I would expect between 12mbs and 18mbs depending on time of day and load.

It is after 5kms that it starts to become an issue on ADSL. ADSL2 is a diff story.

I would throw them an email pointing them to that thread and say its the same issues and see what they come back with.

So Sue managed to finally get hold of someone and they confirmed there is a line fault.

A Telstra tech has been booked and will be here sometime between now and May 3

On a side note, its working again at the moment at 2.7mps

On a side note, Optus have cable, unlimited downloads for $60 per month

You'd be locked into Optus, but you'd also have a very reliable service.

I thought you lived in the outer 'burbs.  Are you sure Optus cable is available?

I think the internet company knows what you get up to on the internets and make sure you have really fast speeds.

I am sure they appreciate if you aren't the one to point out spelling mistakes and bully people, who would?!?

I think Gaz could cover the spelling mistakes but would struggle with the bullying so I'm happy to take up that challenge.

If it gets OB off the Internet then in happy to do my part
