Hack's Journey From Hack To ...

I think you need a few fun challenges for the next 12 months.
Whats your goal for amount of posts by this time next year?
Let's deal with both at once.
How about, I set a goal of matching post count to handicap goal?
Aiming to halve my handicap, so, I'll set the challenge at making only 500 posts in the next 12 months.
Ah, f.uck it, just blew one of them on this reply.

My grip needed a little tweak with left a bit too weak and right a lot too weak, so now both are back to the "cupped wrists" setup I had sometime ago.
Lesson was focused on keeping the "lag" or "L" in my wrists while moving left hip back so a rotational action.
A lot went left.
After getting the feeling and really exaggerating the move, we moved to the path of my hands going, what feels like right, but is really down the line. I have to feel like they are going right to get them down the line.
A totally different feeling and sensation, but back to where I was feeling the power and solid contact without any impulse to "hit" the ball. I had been using too much arms, hands, and so getting club in front of my hands and body.
This is going to take some work at the range to groove and feel natural.
We worked on both irons and driver with this new sequence and technique. Left feeling I know what to work on for the next few weeks.
So, plan is a range session at least every second day to work on this swing technique change while also doing some chipping, and putting to keep the short game in check.
For those interested like Ink, my gl or GA is 16.0 based on the 3 cards I put in. I don't see it changing any time soon as I don't play comp, nor will I be anytime soon.

New swing technique definitely reduces strain on the back.
Golf said it will take a few weeks to get speed, and therefore distance. But, today I was getting about the same as from my old swing so this new technique is promising. Coach said i can expect to pick up 1 possiblly 1 and a half clubs in extra distance once I get this hip turn grooved.
Time will tell.

The golf coach recommend a swing training aide for me during the last lesson. He's not one for training aides, but really thinks this will help me.
It's called a "swing training iron" and is from a company called 'MOMENTUS'.
Here's a link to their website: https://www.momentus...g-trainer-iron/
Seems from what the coach told me, and my research confirms, it is designed so that if you swing out of sequence or out of plane you really feel it, but if you swing correctly it doesn't feel heacy at all, and in fact swings easily. Coach said it is near impossible to swing it incorrectly and not feel it or know it, hence the value in it as a training aide. He suggested using it everyday, at home in the yard and also to warm up and during a range session to get the tempo and feel back, etc.
Has anyone used one of these? Any thoughts or opinions?

A little like a "Swing Setter" that David Leadbetter had out years ago. (I have one) Good idea to ingrain your swing a bit and I used the swing setter pre game for a warm up.

Range session this afternoon trying to groove the new sequence.
Oh dear it was not pretty.
First dozen shots were OK, but, I then started to get in my own way. Couldn't get consistent. A LOT went left and ugly left.
Reading back over my notes, I think my hands were not going right enough.
Single figures feels like a LONG way off. Hell, I doubt I'd break 100 ATM.
