'6' would be great for golf - but more likely '1' and '7'.

"None of the above" would be my thoughts on the matter.

I don't think he'll play a full schedule, nor do I think he will win anything, not contend, nor actually retire.

I reckon he'll play in a half a dozen or so events, but come nowhere in them, develop some minor niggles at times, and will vow at the end of the year, to get better (and not retire)

Just my thoughts ..... :)

Question: How much time should a golfer be allowed to play a given shot?

  •  30 seconds
  •  40 seconds (entitlement under PGA Tour rules)
  •  50 seconds
  •  60 seconds
  •  More than 1 minute
  •  More than 2 minutes

40 seems like plenty of time to get a distance, pick a club and get yourself ready to hit. Anything more than that is pretty ridiculous.

I have played a number of events where they run a shot clock at 45 seconds if your group is falling behind. That is, you have 45 seconds from arrival at your ball to when you must have hit it. Failure to comply means your group walks a hole.

In practice, I found it was ample time to assess what was to be done, check gps reading, take a laser reading to the pin, choose the club, take a practice swing and hit the ball. For me, that was around 30 seconds.

You can analyse a lot before getting to the ball. Then 40sec enough time. May have to have this at Nationals from now on:)

40 secs is miles of time.

Especially for club golfers.
