Hi

I've been gifted an Odyssey Works Metal X Milled 9HT 35".

I currently own an Odyssey Works #1 Versa Wide Tank Putter - Superstroke with Counter Balance Grip.

Which one is best?? (I'm only 6 months into golf and would appreciate some pro-ish tips) I do love the feel of the Odyssey Works, but not sure if I should use and keep the Metal X Milled or use that instead.

Thanks

The best putter is the one you sink the most putts with.

They're different shapes so pick whichever one suits your eye.

I'd be rolling putts with both of them and seeing which one performs better.

That's true. I do like the blade shape of the Works and the weight of it. Just wasn't sure technically if one was better than the other in terms of manufacture.

There is no "technically superior" putter that beats all the others, hence why there is such a huge selection available on the market.

The more important question is how it suits you and your putting stroke. Considering you are still relatively new to golf, suggest you get some lessons to set your base and just play around and explore.

What grade is Pro-ish..... b grade??????

However in all seriousness, it really is a feel thing, as itchy4ob said.....

E.g, I was using a blade style putter for ages, then swapped to a mallet style, based purely on the looks of it.

There is the "technically superior" TaylorMade Spider putter, inspired by Jason Day, that beats all the others, hence why it is such a huge success on the market. I must admit, the new all black Spider putter as inspired by Dustin Johnson looks delicious.

The more important question is how it suits you and your putting stroke. Considering you are still relatively new to golf, suggest you get some lessons to set your base and just play around and explore.

well said Mr GeeGee
