27 deg Hybrid will fly much further than a 28deg iron would so you're going to have a massive distance gap between 7 iron and 5h.

The 24 tweaked to its max 25.5 is 165m, 6i (28 deg) 150m and 7i (32 deg) 140m.

27 maybe a bit long so I'll adjust to 27.75 or 28.5 to get the 150m carry.

Bit of trial and error to get them spaced evenly again.

Given that Mouldy can drop a golf ball into a bucket from both 140m and 150m respectively with his irons, I just don't see the issue at all. :o

Does Jon get many requests for quarter inch loft adjustments?

Do PGA Pro's even go to that much detail?

Nothing to do with Jon. It's what adjustments Titleist offer.
+1.5 +.75 -.75

I had them going about 190m 177m and 165m

I know the actual loft of the club race never changes but the hosel adjustments do make a difference to the distance carried.

I've got not idea what distances I get off the hosel of my clubs.

That's a good reason for a hybrid. First shot at the Pro Am last Friday was a 6i hosel rocket. That got the thought process into action.

Genuine question

Increasing loft on the hozel just closes the face. If the club is soled flat on the ground the loft is always the same.

To get the increase in loft you have to resquare the closed face at address, which gives you the same effect as opening the face of a non adjustable club.

At least that's what I understand about it.... wishon is about as boring as they come.

The perception of changing loft is via the change in face angle, shut it down or open it up.

Still doesn't alter the loft, it's fixed because the face is welded to the body-head.

So by moving and rotating the shaft gives us the feeling that the loft has increased or decreased, more open or closed, more or less loft !

You can get the same effect with a fixed head club by changing the face angle, either opened or closed.

Jon...

ps: if it works for you Mouldman, then just do it. Try not to get caught up in the physics and numbers because they just don't add up !

Am I misunderstanding or are you replacing a 6 iron with a 5 hybrid? Must be the worst hybrid in the world if it's a club shorter than the equivalent iron
