You really should do some research.

EPL is watched in more than 730m homes globally each year

NFL for instance has about 250m viewers each season

I did do some research, the EPL is fourth in revenue behind the other 3 I mentioned.

You also said "The AFL would probably prefer it if there were no supporters at the games then they wouldn't need to spend a fortune on infrastructure security etc. just enough TV towers to get the main source of income"

So if the Epl's success is purely based on viewership, why do you care if that is also the afl's goal?

EPL is nowhere near as prestigious as La Liga or Serie A. Don't know about revenue. The best Football players may start in the EPL but they all want to play in Spain or Italy.

I agree with some of GPJ"s mourning of the hey day of The VFL when clubs could buy/poach the best talent and win a Flag.
NMFC won 2 that way.
The biff and the end to end I don't miss nor do I miss hero worship for Barney Rubble who at the height of his infamy king hit a bloke off the ball while the Ump was waiting for the flashing signal to bounce the ball after a goal.

The great thing about tonight is that it's like a free hit in a 20/20 for Carlton.

They have nothing at all to lose.

Whereas Richmond have the most demanding supporters waiting to see if they'll jump on the bandwagon or form a picket at Punt Rd demanding a new coach, pres and captain.

Could even be quite a few neutrals hoping for a good coach sacking.

Dusty dominating. No available matchup other than Armfield but Bolton is to new to remember the jobs he did on Milne.

Griffiths is as useless as Vickery and is now exposed as their worst forward.

Daisy showing his lack of ticker staying very wide.

Weitering is a future Carlton champion. Can play either end with poise.

Kreuzer very good but no support when he goes off the ball.

Your Armfield match up on Dusty is a gem
Yeah Milne and Dusty are like peas in a pod.
Dusty would take a giant dump on Armfield, then dirty Sanchez him just for being in his space without permission.

And possibly Daisy being wide is actually him playing his role?
Compare him physically to the great inside players in the AFL.
Chalk and cheese.

Daisy reminds me of Mil Hanna. Avoids contact at all times. Far too soft. Thanks Mick M for the big contract. Mick probably gets a commission.

Really impressed with our younger players.

Weitering gave Rance more than a few problems as well as being shown to be very good down back. Hope he's locked into a long term contract.

Marchbank was very good. Just a couple of clangers which is not unexpected.

Plowman was quite tidy as well.

Don't understand why Bolton didn't use Gibbs or Curnow as a stopper on Dusty in the middle or when he went back. When he went forward we had nobody to match up on him. That's why I suggested Armfield at least he is quicker than Dusty.

Not disappointed by the game.

Richmond look much better in the middle but their spine is very suspect as is their defence. Can't concede that many goals to the good teams.

Looking forward to tonight's battle. I actually think the Pies maybe handy this year and the doggies don't want to be slow out of the blocks.

So happy footy is back

You should thank your medical staff for signing off on Daisy when Collingwood, and the rest of the AFL, knew his ankle was shot.
Never been the same player since.
