March 2019 Vic Pol are hosting the Australian Championships in Melbourne so I won't be playing the Nationals, if it was moved to March 2019. Generally the Aus Champs are always in March (except 2018 when Tassie are holding them in Mid February) so any move for the Nationals to March may eliminate me.

that is no good  we cant have the Inawwgrull winner not attend!

Thanks CB  A little background - Tassie was mentioned a few different places that I saw on social media recently by our members hence the view to do a 4 round event at all their great bucket list courses. It was also the original discussion that eventuated into our current National event if my memory recalls correctly.

Murray River Im sure would be fun to but would be one to look at in next Vic rotation maybe?

Its still open for discussion at this point but then a put up or shut up for all to make it actually happen regardless of where we want to go.

And there's the rub of the green.  You will get 30 to say I'm going and 15 will actually pay.

yup  if we replace the normal Nationals (40-50pax) event with Tassie, we may end up with 20-24?

Been chatting to a few organisers- how is early November 2018?

Id prefer not to move our event to early in year as this actually causes other conflicts for many of our members- going off past discussions.

March or November we have better chance on weather and as its off Tasman bit of Irish luck abounds for anytime we go.

Im looking at two options.

1) King Island only

2) King Island and Barnbougle 4 rounds.

This may allow more members the participate if on time or resource shortage.

A non refundable deposit is needed to hold the rooms which they say is the biggest issue if we wait till later - may not be enough rooms.

Madam lots of others to choose from in northern tassy.

if pick North tassie, as opposed to KI.

Tassie easy to get to by ship or plane from Melb/ Sydney, where as King island adds cost of additional airfares and limited flights.

eg

Melb to KI =$350 return. * (QANTAS)

Melb to Launceston return = $200 *(QANTAS)

In addition to Barnbougle in north other courses would be

Launceston country club casino

Launceston tassies oldest course

Devonport - great

Prospect vale -excellent value and good challenge resort

Ulverstone - very challenging

or go south to include

Tasmania Gc (right near airport) if fly out or Hobart

If it were Nov 2018 I may have to pull the pin.

I'm doing Japan in late July/early Aug, so I doubt I'd have the funds.

Will see how the savings go though, it would be a brilliant weekend down there.
