I am actually qualified to comment on something on this forum finally. I never expected that.

A couple of suggestions. They all are quite unmanly so you'll need to deal with that. I already did.

Vaseline in place of the bike shorts suggestion. And reapply between rounds. No I'm not kidding.

KY gel between the toes. No I'm not kidding.

Replace your shirt between rounds and if the gods allow, take a shower.

Your nutrition will be more important than you can appreciate. I would graze every fourth hole. Dried bananas, dates, power gel if you've tested these out prior. Pack a Vegemite or peanut butter sandwich. Take 15g of simple carbohydrate every half hour (calm down it's about 6 jelly beans)

1 litre of water per 25kg of body weight. Start drinking on the first hole.

No alcohol. No I'm not kidding on that either.

Most of all have fun. Everyone here on the forum wishes they were out there with you.

Whatever score you shoot, take ten shots off it and tell us that score.

Good luck!

Yeah but you're Asian and you're all like that little dude in Oceans 11 that could get stuffed into suitcases and shitt.
We Westerners are not capable of these things.
It's because our diks are bigger.

36 holes in a day... it's a great challenge.

As long as....

1) It's not 36 holes at Trentham with Iron Mick

2) It's 36 holes at the National in 35deg+ with Goldy, ol' Two Drivers and the main man Heath..

2a)... and you par the 36th hole, rated 1 (I think), to break 100

3) you just keep drinking water

4) you eat enough before, during and after... I think it's called... umm... sustenance. Actually, you should probably do that every day.

5) expect to be knackered.

6) make sure you are in an awesome 4some (see point 2)

7) have a few gloves

Really, I don't think it's too hard and with the right stuff, is a great physical test... certainly more so than a standard 18

Pfft, it's only golf. It's not like he's doing an Hawaiian Ironman or walking the Kokoda Track or anything crazy like that.

Yep fair call. I think I just got carried with being able to comment on something and was lost in the moment. Any Kokoda track finishers are way in front. This would literally be a walk in a park compared to that effort. Ironman triathlon is so last decade.

I'm playing in my first 36 hole event this Saturday as part of my home club's annual tournament. Tee off for the morning round at 7.20am, break for lunch, then back into it at 12.30pm.

Any tips/advice out there from guys who have walked the 36 in one day? Considering my diet during a round currently consists of no breakfast, a couple of Powerades, a Snickers and 15 ciggies I'm thinking that will be the main thing I'll need to change. Was also thinking about a change of shoes / socks for the second round...

First tip: HAVE BREAKFAST !!!  With lots of protein and some carbs. You can't go all day without fuel. Lunch might be slow to digest and might not kick in until it's too late.

Second tip: Take some light snacks, a sugar hit can help.

Third tip: Make sure you have plenty to drink, even if it's not all that hot. Frequent small sips.

Fourth tip: Don't stress yourself.  It'll probably be a slow round anyway, so just walk casually, particularly up any hills. Conserve your energy.

I'd also say don't smoke, but I expect you've heard all that before now.

You'll only need a change of socks / glove / shirt if they get wet. Otherwise, your clothing will last all day just as if you were doing a labouring job.

Doing a 36 holer is good fun, particularly watching the other players wilt towards the end.
