Rather than be buried in 35 pages dating back to 2012.

From another site:

The USGA and R&A are hosting a teleconference this Wednesday, March 1, at 8:30am eastern time. It's scheduled to last one hour.

Purpose: The USGA and The R&A will host a joint media teleconference on Wednesday, March 1 regarding the Rules of Golf Modernization initiative.

Participants: Thomas Pagel, Senior Director, Rules of Golf & Amateur Status, USGA
David Rickman, Executive Director – Governance and Chief of Staff, The R&A

Thoughts on what the announcement might include?

If my ball went through OB, I suspect I'd either play another or consult a colo-rectal surgeon.

I think I'd be the one consulting a surgeon, at your cost.

There's lots we could wish for, rogolf.  But let's just wait and see whether they can achieve anything worthwhile.

Now that's definitely not a positive approach!  Your glass is certainly more than half-empty.

Did you provide any input to your national golf association (who just might have had some input)?

OB wants to play Putt-Putt on a full sized course. Needs a new set of rules to start with...

Are you suggesting that his only interest is a lower score?

Yes, I'm getting older every day and can see many benefits in simplifying the rules somewhat radically for the majority of golfers.

But I can also recognise that top level golf might be better off in retaining some of the nitty gritty of tedious, detailed rules.

So it seems I'm a fan of bifurcation.
