I'd ring the pro shop and ask what to do. Probably repair as much as possible until the ground staff could re-cut the hole

Ummm.... what is a pro shop???
This is where the water gets muddy in terms of what is available between a big club and a small club.... and the rule book...

Our pro shop..... that is the bar staff who apart from me know that we have a golf course and what they are expected to charge....

From my understanding of the rules of golf the damage caused by said hop grassers isn't repairable because it isn't an animal scrap as such as is defined in the rules.... might be wrong but we will see..

Hole was moved and broken pin repaired and replaced by green keeper

Mid week...
Committee have day jobs...

Next Saturday.

A similar problem at a 'no staff' course a few years ago.
Neighbouring cows found their way onto the course and their hooves sunk into the fairway and greens making very deep holes everywhere. They only destroyed two greens before farmer Joe recovered his livestock.

Repair the damage as best you can & get word back to the clubhouse / Greenkeeper as soon as you can.

Ideally there will be someone around that can repair the green or move the hole. Of course on smaller courses this may not be quiet that easy..At worst ring the Club Captain or the President for a decision.

If you are playing competition there should be someone around to make a decision.
