Bubs was watching a documentary about Curious and Unusual Deaths and there was a story about a golfer.

Here's a NY times article about it:

So let's all be careful that our golf rage doesn't kill us!

Sounds suss to me. Has to be the head end. I can't visualise how that could come back like an arrow and spear him in the heart.

Very unlucky

It was the head end, broke off and bounced off the bench and rebounded into his chest

Article mentions it pierced his heart.
So the 3W head bounced of the bench and went right through his chest?
Seems a little less than plausible

if my interpretation is correct, the head broke off leaving an exposed and jagged shaft, which then bounced back and into his chest.

Unfortunately there are a lot of stories, about people being injured with clubs being thrown and breaking wrists  and bones in hands. And they are never the same afterwards.

Also when you pay good money for them, you show little respect for the person who 'built' them and yourself.

I read about a similar event where a guy smashed his club into his golf cart.

The resulting broken shaft flew back and pierced his jugular...died very quickly.

Tragic.

Well I don't rage when I hit bad shots, on the other hand, I do rage when I lost my balls, typically when I have suspicions of third party involvement!

Years ago we had a son and dad playing at a local course and they drove fast over the traffic ropes and pulled a stake out that then came swinging around and hit I believe the father and killed him. This was 20 years ago- the company removed ropes and spikes as traffic control form every course they managed!  Just total bad luck on how it happened.
