I'm TPG too

I've had to use their customer service twice in the last 12 months due to line faults on our property.

They have been awesome to deal with.

Both issues were sorted very promptly and their communication was outstanding.

Couldn't be happier with them

Yeah but ADSL2+ still has a max speed of 24mbps I believe. Distance from the exchange causes it to drop from that point.

I get away with about 10mbps at home because I'm the only one using the connection.

Im about 3kms from the exchange and used to **** me up the wall when im running and die, and then watch the replay and apparently walked into cross fire or stumble on an enemy without seeing them.

Yup. Sticking to Dota 2 on the PC now. Last year's world championships had a prize purse in excess of $16m USD!

So we are looking at going for unlimited broadband.

Who is using who?

Any horror stories to avoid?

We are looking at Spintel

We have been with Telstrav for years. Been excellent customer service for us.
They just don't have a cheapish unlimited plan

I decided about a month ago to get onto this NBN thingy.    I rang my telcho and enquired about it.    While I was on the phone (to India) actually he was a young Aussie sounding guy....they offered to update my plan for a better and cheaper service.    I had a direct plan with Foxtel which I was happy with but Telstra apparently have some sort of ownership or dealings with them and they offered to roll all the foxtel and phone plan into one.    Great I thought....sounds easy.........

Long story short..........

I think I've made about 8-10 (in excess of an hour each time) calls to Telstra to get it right.    I've had my Foxtel disconnected...I've lost access to the channels I had before, I didn't get the NBN start up kit and god knows what sort of bills I'll get over the next few months.   Friday night Dr Sues messages me at work that we've lost all the sport on Foxtel just as she was about to sit down and watch the AFL game.     I attempted to sort it Saturday and ended up hanging up after I was put on hold again, and thought I'd go to their shop at Fountain Gate.    They couldn't help so another 90 minute call today.

The end result was finally getting all the channels back that I had over a month ago (for how long - who knows)   I suspect this is not the end of it...as the NBN kit is due this week and a technician is due out Monday week.

If you're in an area where Telstra is the only choice you're farked. Anywhere else choose anyone other than Telstra. The only time I ever got any success with Telstra was via a complaint to the Ombudsman. Telstra have a different group or subgroup looking after these complaints and they get resolved.

When services work there is little doubt that Telstra is the best provider. However, as soon as there's a problem they're amongst the worst.

I moved to iiNet for my ADSL2+ (only 400m to exchange) as they have their own DSLAM in the exchange. Customer service is excellent.

I will never ever deal with Telstra again in my lifetime. If I ever move it would never be to an area where Telstra was the only choice.

Foxtel who are jointly owned by News Corp and Telstra have only two assets left and that is Sport content and the cable infrastructure. Sooner or later they will lose the Sport and cease to exist. Can't come soon enough. Maybe CBS will be the disruptor.

Do iiNet offer unlimited broadband yet? I ditched them for Optus and I'm saving over $100 a month. I've got internet, 3 mobiles, Foxtel, and home phone for under $200 a month through Optus.

I have recently transferred to the NBN and churned my ISP to Aussiebroadband..

Nothing but good so far.

They have there own ifrastructure in every POI.

This help them keep their speeds up to the speed paid for. Also a bonus Australian call centre for any help and problems.
