We are wirh Telstra currently, and have a download spedd of 35mp

TPG advertise up to 20mps

If they use the same system, willour speed drop to that figure?

First person shooter.

35mbps is quicker than adsl2, do you have cable at the moment?

We had TPG when we had ADSL, no problems, but you have to check in every now and then to make sure that they have you on the best deal, as they won't tell you that they have new packages.

Since we moved we went back to optus cable, and we have always been super happy with that.

Fair enough, didn't realise ADSL2 could get that quick. I'd  be sticking with Telstra if I got that speed

Rob, goto speedtest.net and see what speed you are really getting.

ADSL2+ maxes out at around 12 Mbps.

There is no reason why a different isp would have you on a different speed unless the new supplier uses, for example, an Optus DSLAM in your local exchange instead of the Telstra one there.

If you are happy with your current speed, choose an isp that resells Telstra.

I used TPG years ago and I only swapped because of a better deal elsewhere, but had no complaints with their service.

Adsl and adsl2+ is dependant on your distance from the exchange as they suffer dramatically from attenuation once you get beyond 1km.

Im on adsl with telstra and can only get about 8mbps download and about 2 mbps upload.

Lag city to the point where i have given up on playing FPS.

Yeah but ADSL2+ still has a max speed of 24mbps I believe. Distance from the exchange causes it to drop from that point.

I get away with about 10mbps at home because I'm the only one using the connection.
