Does Clause 13 help?

http://golfadmin.per...5589-source.pdf

And this from the GA Manual

10(vi) Where 16-17 holes inclusive have been played, the player will be deemed to have had net par for the remaining holes (unless it is considered the player has discontinued play with a view to achieving a specific score for handicap purposes). The score will be processed as an 18-hole score.

Can we get an expert to comment on this (sorry Pom - you know what I mean)

Weeti I wasn't that far from the mark for what to do for handicapping purposes ....

I'm trying to think of a reason apart from what is written in the rules book why common sense can't be used and extend the scores from the last group and close the comp....

But than again I'm not an expert

3. What are the new handicap system regulations for 9-hole scores (or for scores of anywhere
between 8-17 holes inclusive)?
• 16-17 holes: entered into GOLF Link as an 18-hole score.
• 8-15 holes: entered into GOLF Link as a 9-hole score (it is either the front 9 or back 9 that is
used, the other holes are disregarded).
• For rounds of 8 holes, or of 16-17 holes: net par (ie 2 Stableford points) is awarded for the missing holes.

13. If an 18-hole competition gets interrupted mid-round by rain, can we shorten it to 9 holes?
For competition purposes (ie prize giving), it is The R&A’s position that a stipulated round may not be shortened once that round has commenced (Decision 33-1/2).
For handicapping purposes only, clubs have the discretion to use incomplete rounds in accordance with the process outlined in Item 3 above.

Taken from the handicapping resources on the Golf Australia website

PS and it's lightning, not lightening.

So, my recollection was about right.

p.s. I wasn't going to pick on Weeti for taking a load off the groups that didn't finish, or making them paler.

I though this applied

Thanks all

We loaded the handicaps as per the above - good results

Shame we couldn't help them with their comp scores but I don't think they were winning
