hmmmm $62 for a bog standard one day adult concession ticket - thats entry only - cant take food OR WATER in with you....no photos, no fires, no nudity....

maybe I will go, maybe I wont now

Is this correct.... can't see any entry 'conditions' anywhere on the website. Please advise. I would assume you could have a backpack to take a jacket etc.

There are conditions on the US pgs tour site, but tricky to find! based on us security paranoia, only very very small bags allowed .. they are scared of backpack bombs etc..

But I don't think they (Aussie security) have any issues with what you bring in. unless it's a video camera...

If you mean is there any airport style screening at entry gate, heck no just walk through flash your pass and off you go.

there are signs up saying no mobile phones but heaps where using them in catering areas.

All in all , crowd was well behaved with none of that "Get in the hole" rubbish.

Day 3 .... Probably one of the quietist days I have experienced at a 'major' Golf Tournament. Low crowds made it ever so comfortable in finding good viewing spots. Foursomes, whilst good for the mystique of the event, does not promote a lot of excitement as players can become conservative and protective of the card.
Overall an enjoyable day, great golf course, typical of Melbourne's Sandbelt, and a crowd which are so knowledgeable of golf. I also add that tickets are far to expensive but I assume TV rights negate the balance sheet and as it was a USPGA event I don't think they really care on numbers. Shame really !!

Out of interest what would be a fair price for daily entry?

$40-$50. I was going to take my mum, partner and her mum but that coming in at $300 before food and beverages is a bit nuts for people who would just sit in the entertainment area for 6 hours and walk around for an hour or 2.

Highlight of the day was the international TV golf appearance of our CB80. The very official looking CB found the errant drive of the Danes. Didn't have to keep the crowd at bay as it was deep in the jungle. CB was somewhat bemused at the generous line of sight unplayable drop the rules official gave them.

The Heath's infrastructure is so inferior to RM and hence the camera work is pathetic. Plus foursomes is boring to watch as there is so little content.

RM should be the automatic choice for tournaments in Melbourne

To increase numbers and add greater atmosphere I would be topping entry at say $25 . I was surprised yesterday that with free entry for under 16 children the crowd was dominated by adults. I expected more chilcren in attendance.

Agree , much prefer watching the golf live at KH , so much easier to get around the course and less walking distance. In saying that viewing mounds at both courses are about equal.
