Amazing..... who would have ever thought that 5 different balls of different construction would all sound different when bounced off concrete.

Bouncing off concrete is the secret to extra distance.

My entire gameplan is based around it.

If only they made clubs with a concrete face.  Then we could all have more fun on the golf course by trying to guess the make of ball being used by our opponents by the sound it makes..

yeah - who would have thought!  my scientific testing has now proven what was once theory as fact!

feel is obviously of no consequence to you in what golf ball you choose to use.

I got 2 Forte balls as well. They feel very soft, almost sticky. I'll give them a belt and see what happens.

I got the Prototype 1 in tghe mail.
Used it today inCanadian Foirsomes.

Overall is a very very solid ball. Held up much better than the 1st version.

It did discolor, but not to badly.

Distance is good, feel is excellent, the cover held up very well.

But. As it was foursomes, i only played half the shots, so it may get discolored more in a full round.

I am a fan actually

Here's the thing in regards to this ball in particular as I was talking to their R&D manager late last year

prior to Forte signing a 5 year deal for Australia,,,,, if they were to change to a totally different paint approach

the balls would be fine we were going to work on a new lacquer that wasn't sticky and I have a special nano

additive that a friend has developed in Queensland at the Uni of Qld polymer division that I was going to suggest.

Moving on to the next issues with a new ball / new brand in any western market think here / UK / USA,,,,,

where do you get to sell it ,  Online is very hard as price is about all you have and there are very cheap OEM

premium balls already owning that space so in fact you have to be much cheaper than you want.

You could sell through off course,,,,, but they dont really want you because they only take orders not sell and

no one really knows your balls so no one is really going to ask for them ,,,, it takes years to be popular.

You could sell to proshops ,,,, they will want them really cheap and even then they don't really believe in them.

In reality most balls sold through proshops are 2 piece not multilayer so the pro's are only looking for balls

that compete in that space.

So for this 3 piece ball to sell through it still needs to fix its paint and then it needs to sell for under $40

and probably closer to $30 + postage,,, and then it may only sell 1 or 2000 dozen balls a year. in Oz,,

Is it worth all this trouble when Vice (similar balls made by Foremost as well) are already trying to do this

here and have been trying for a few years and they are not selling many,,,,

Premium balls are really tough to make money from,,,,, 2 piece surlyn are harder.

I played these on the weekend and I thought they were okay without being remarkable.  I don't like the colour - much prefer the way that the vision balls seem to light up on the fairway most of the time.

I thought the distance was pretty good and the feel was fine including off the putter, but I wouldn't go out of my way to play them again.
