Hi all,

I have been in conversation with the owner of a new Golf Ball company - Forte golf, and they have recently sent me some of their balls to trial.

The owner wanted me to share the link so others can try his products too  - the link is -

http://fortegolf.asy...com/limitedgolf

You put in your handicap, and they will send you the ball type best suited.

I was sent a new 6 piece ball called Apex, and a 3 piece tour ball.

I haven't used them yet, but they look pretty good.

I have no association with the company, just passing on the offer, and the mods have approved it.

Cheers

Seems they ask you for everything else but your handicap.  No thanks, I don't give my wife that much information.

Forte are Foremost Golf / they are one of the largest ball factories in Taiwan and make for Wilson / Volvik / SaintNine /XX10

/ Shark / Optima? / Vice / JetGolf Vic plus all the companies that Titleist sued over the dimple casein the US ,,,, so in general plenty.

,,,, they have set up a new office in Queensland so I am not sure if David Su is still involved who ran the Sydeny office.

They have 2 pce / 3 pce and the 6 piece ,,,,, I have tested the older versions and they were ok , but as we all know

they have to be priced properly in order to have a chance as no new brand will succeed any more by being at Titleist

prices or even Callaway prices and 4 / 5 and 6 pieces does not mean a better ball any more,,, 3 can get it done if you

are good at making balls so ,,,,,, Foremost X3 / X4 Urethane were being cleared for $20 - $30 which still was a challenge

The balls to try are either the 6 piece at RRP $72.00 or the 3 piece soft surlyn ,,,,, no 2 piece is going to be better

than some of the current balls going around so I would look for something potentially better to try,,,, I would be

interested myself,,,,  ;) but I know like you all know the ball market is really tough to get something going.

Cheers,

Boz

The guy that emailed me went by the name of Ken.

I was sent the 6 piece and 3 piece balls, will likely give them a go this week.

I thought the 3 piece was urethane?

Yes ,,, Ken Weng seems to be the one in charge now,,,,,

The SS3 should be a Surlyn cover from what I can tell ,,, and looking at the price point of sub $30 RRP

but you will be able to tell ,,, if it stays brighter white for the whole round then its probably not their urethane.

Can you let me know if they fixed the white paint on the 6 piece ,,, it used to feel really sticky in the fingers

when new and then would go milky white with UV exposure during the first round.

Its a good price for that much ball,,,,don't leave your extra stock in the car during summer it will

speed up the cover oxidisation being cast urethane,,,,

Hi DP, no the X3 and X4 are cast urethane 3 and 4 piece designs,, I thought they felt a bit heavy / dead myself but

they do spin and go ok,,,,,, these new balls are updates from what i understand ,,,,,,,

Scratch received an express courier satchel today via Couriers Pls (Can't be cheap sending sample stuff out like this but hey)

The two styles of balls received are the :

  • Tour Performance S x Qty 2
  • Apex 6 x Qty 2

Initial thoughts, when I place both balls in my hand they feel very soft and sticky  :P

Will put them through their paces on the weekend.
