Hi Bruce,

Saw you out at Brissy GC yesterday-what were your thoughts on the event?.
I thought it was great, very enjoyable relaxed setting-been to some big tourneys round the world but being able to walk the fairways with the young up coming players was really good.
Impressed with the demeanour of the young fellow who won-pulling his own bag and played within himself final day to get it done.

Hi Busted

Yes really enjoyed the afternoon there on Sunday and feel the Brisbane Golf Club proved very successful as a tournament venue. There was a very nice atmosphere there.

I could only get there on the Thursday and Sunday as I was down at the ISG Nationals on Friday and Saturday on the Mornington Peninsula where I might say there was a marked difference in temperature !!

I really like and have always liked Brookwater as a golf course but the thing the BGC has in its favour for a tournament such as this is that its configuration is far more spectator friendly, allowing easier access to more golf holes in closer proximity.

Being able to walk the fairways rather than behind the ropes was an added bonus for those who attended, a feature of all Tier 2 events on the PGA Tour of Australasia. It allows those who attended the event to get up close and personal with the players and get a better feel for what goes on in those situations.

As for Brett Coletta his win was a great result especially given the back story behind his win. This piece I wrote for iseekgolf on Sunday night explains some of it.

http://www.iseekgolf...sland-open-win-

Coletta was holding back the emotions on Sunday and said to me after his win that after hitting his approach to the last it was all he could do to not burst into tears. His mum had come up from Melbourne which made for even more emotion.

In testing in these matters, Coletta is one of the AIS's most powerful athletes full stop. With this experience behind him, and that at the Asia Pacific Amateur Championship, he now also has an increasingly powerful mind to complement his powerful and classy game.

Bruce I was also @  the QLD Open.

I was in the main sponsors tent all day.

So that maybe that is why we did not run into each other.

Still waiting on the report you are writing.

We will catch up @ the Australian Open.

Again it will be great to be working with you on course.

Also did hear some great wraps about your work while @ The ISG Nat's.

Keep up the good work .

Say No More.
