How good did he strike it Bruce?

I have done a few demo days for him at his corporate golf days, top bloke.

 

I never really got to see the best of him Maxx although worked for him in about maybe 15 - 18 tournaments in 1973 and 1974 before we parted ways. That is the story - Bob kind of had the last laugh. Always liked him though and yes was a fabulous long iron player.

He still struck it alright last year when I played with him. Haven't seen him around the club lately though, hopefully he's still travelling alright.


Is he still a full member or just drop in and play occasionally as a former icon of the club?

I think he's still a full member but i couldnt say for sure

Simon said he did not have a caddy the following week but was unsure if he could afford a regular tour caddy and would think it over.

Good story Bruce, 42 years may have passed but it's still difficult to prise a dollar out of a Kiwi :)

Nice find Perry on the Paul Stevens story. Yes he would sing at night and caddy during the day sometimes.
