For f*cks sake fellas..and girls...and yes it's easy to say this, but if you have some demons within PLEASE SEEK PROFESSIONAL HELP.
It is out there and you CAN win!
Your families love you and along with them we don't want to lose another member of our great golfing family.
I never met L4G. Just want to say how sorry I am for him, his wife, family, and friends, including all his golf buds on ISG.
Also want to echo BarnEsy's comment above - if you need some help, PLEASE reach out! Life is too precious to make an early exit. The loss of one person is just so utterly devastating for the many left behind.
There's no shame in putting your hand up for help when you feel like you can't cope by yourself, but I also know how impossible it can feel to take that step. We're all so fragile, even though we (men especially) hate to admit it.

He was the ultimate gear ho.
He bought one club off me and after about a week he decided he didn't want it.
He phoned me and asked if I minded if he posted it up for sale.
That was PJ, a truly genuine guy.

And it was worth it, boy could he hit a ball. I'd say he was off around 4 at the time and I gave him a fair bit of grief about his putting all day to try and even things up (everyone here knows his drives were untouchable).
I've since read he got to plus two. That was more like his ability, fantastic commitment he must have applied.
After our game, we were sitting in the bar and he kept refusing all the food and drinks our hosts were laying on. Probably had a half a glass of orange juice. And I recall saying to him "you putt like a woman, but you eat like a girl, what's going on?"
It was here that he told me what we all came to know, that he'd had surgery and simply couldn't fit anything in his stomach.
I can remember like yesterday the laugh in his voice when I said "for **** sake PJ get your money back it clearly hasn't worked" and he replied "it was only three weeks ago d***head".
For someone who I met so few times, his passing has impacted. That's quite a guy.
I'll miss him.

I'm shattered.... I have been trying to get some sense of what I might say since Barnsey rang me this arvo to give me the bad news, but have not been able to finish anything because I've had to go and reach for the tissues. Now having read the posts from you guys I'm even worse. I still don't know what to say as I am devastated that PJ is gone. My heartfelt condolences to Paul's beautiful wife Chris. I am so sad for you. Wish there was more I could say, but the lump in my throat just keeps getting bigger. Gonna miss you PJ, RIP my friend.

Wow... saw Madams post on Facepage and came over here hoping not to find this thread, but alas I did.
I never met PJ, or L4G as I always knew him, but like many exchanged many chats over the years. He was the provider of "The Rocket Stick", my 3 wood, which played such a big role in getting my golf to where I acheived my golf dream.
But perhaps it was in "Big Momma's House" back in 2010 where I got to know him best. For those newbies, BMH was set up to help a few of us "heavy" lads just try and encourage each other to shed a few kilos and just generally be a bit healthier. L4G was the hero of the group, albeit a medically assisted. For those unknown, He managed to go from 160kgs down to 115kgs in a year. Amazing effort and commitment.
I don't know what to say... Other than I'm gutted. Thoughts are with his family and his friends and to those on here that knew him better than I.
A true ISG icon.
