So can we see your full list? I like to keep a card for any course played as well, although didn't do so when I was younger, so have quite around 20 courses missing. Also like to get a club logo ball if they sell them. Made a stand for them to be displayed. Have worked out 140 played.

5. The Australian Golf Club

USA

1. Cypress Point Golf Club

2. Winged Foot Golf Club (West)

3. Baltusrol Golf Club (Lower)

4. Olympic Golf Club (Lake)

5. Pebble Beach Golf Club

Scotland

1. Carnoustie Golf Links (Championship)

Ireland - North and South

1. Royal County Down Golf Club

2. Royal Portrush - Dunluce

The most stuck up, a toss up between Royal Melbourne and Muirfield.

The most fun to play, North Berwick and Lahinch, just for their quirkiness.

I wish I had the wherewith all to go back an play them all again.

Think I will need a few drinks to put them in order, especially 100.

Wife is supportive, if she comes along will hit the nearest day spa, which I'm sure is a lot more expensive than me playing golf.

I like to think of myself as motivated, not so much nuts. Except when I'm talking to myself  :), but golf is my therapy.

Great effort with those. If I got even half of those overseas courses would be impressed (very happy also). Curious on the reasoning for NSW over RM Composite. Was this more the whole experience or the course itself. Would even ask if it was against RM East or even West by itself, as there are a few lack luster holes on both, but composite is mighty impressive. In the end comparing courses (or ranking) is very subjective, but still curious if you happy to answer.

These are just my personal preferences and no doubt there are many who would not agree.

RM Composite is a great course but it is not easy to get to play it as it once was. Showing my age, but I thought it was a better challenge back in the persimmon woods/balata balls era. Don't get me wrong, I have always enjoyed playing at RM no matter which course.

Regardless, I think Kingston Heath is the best of the sand belt courses from a design/playability point of view. They (the Members) also enjoy a glass or three of red.

La Perouse ticks all the boxes for me - good design, variable weather conditions mean the golf is never boring, complemented by those stunning views. It's just a nice walk, except when the winds really get serious, and then the bar is also a nice place to be to enjoy those vistas.

From a golfing holiday stand point, Melbourne's sand belt and the Peninsulas has always been my go to destination. Hard to find better quality golf in one confined area anywhere else in the world, and the weather at the right time of year is mostly agreeable. Scotland has the edge in courses but the weather can be atrocious and golf has gotten very expensive.

Reciprocity also made Melbourne very affordable.

Nowhere near. Will play my 150th course this week though, provided not washed out.

Good job. Keep it up! Which course will you be playing? Do you have a top 10 from the courses you have played?

Good list with a solid Mornington theme. Keep at it! I'm playing St Andrews Beach for the first time this weekend. Is it as good as they say it is?

It's no Loch Sport but it's pretty good.  :D

I do love St Andrews Beach even though I've never played really well there.  Enjoy it - the weather looks like it's going to be kind to you.
