I heard that the course will be turned into a public one when the Olympics are done. It's reclaimed marsh land and the aim was to make golf more accessible for the average punter

Fair enough, I wonder if that will actually work out or not.

It will probably be turned in to a public crack den.

Nothing in reality, just seemed to have a different feel about it because they are playing for their country.

It would be really good if they had some sort of team event like foursomes or something.

Even if teammates played in the same group would help.

Would only encourage cheating on the scale of spit, coins and red texta.

God help me at Moonah next weekend. Better not use a red texta to mark my ball. At least all the extra pressure will make my mouth dry so no chance of spit!. And i'm not in Ink's group so i wont get his!

Yeah, I was thinking if they combined the two players total scores for a final total for the team event.

Hi Bruce, any thoughts on the future format for Tokyo 2020 ?

This years event lacked a bit of imagination and played over 8 days was rather extensive to say the least.

I favour still the two divisions but played over 36 holes qualifying and then put the top 4 into Match Play. The event could easily be played over 4 days using 2 courses for the qualifiers.

I am not sure who decides the format but assume USPGA & St Andrews were the deciding bodies. Overall a great success going by all reports but I am sure Tokyo will be a vast improvement.

ps: Belated HB !!
