If stats is what your after GRGS is the king, nothing else comes close

It certainly looks impressive, but I am attracted by the ease of recording for game golf.  We shall see when I put it into action on the weekend.

it can take a few rounds to get accustomed Dan, especially if you don't play regularly. But once its in your routine, its second nature.

A really nice feature is the ability to compare your game to a lower or higher handicapped golfer and translates the 'shots gained' stats.. Really highlights which part of your game will benefit your scoring.

Good luck with it! Let me know if you hv any questions

Well had my first round today using the tech.  Lots of tapping and re-tapping, but amazingly enough when I uploaded it I had only missed a couple.   Was playing par so ended up deleting some holes from the round because I just couldn't figure out what would have happened for the hole.  Hopefully I will get better at not wiping on the fairway so that I can make a reasonable guess of how the hole would have played out.

So far really liking the interface, and having a touch screen computer makes the updating even easier.

My only wrinkle at the moment is that I can't put the tag on my putter cause of the balancing weights I had installed.  For today I wore it on the stepcounter on my wrist which worked okay, but I might have to try and engineer a more permanent solution - maybe taping it to the top of my grip or something - would hate to lose the little tag.

Nice going Dan. fwiw, i glued a spare tag on a metal washer and replaced the marker on those magnetic switchblade type pitch mark repairers. So its always in my pocket

So you just use that as an extra or you use it instead of the putter one?

It really doesn't matter which tag  you use. As long as its reflected in 'My Golf Bag'. I was going through a putter phase for a while, so this method worked best for me.

Yes, I figured that out when I set up my bag. I found it okay to have it on my wrist, so maybe I will make a more permanent solution I can use like that. I also have to experiment with where it is more confortable for me to have the unit.

With the hole wipes from the middle of the fairway I usually put 2 putts on the hole and make up the difference with any club or guess how the hole played out up to double past my cap.

So if the hole is a par 4 and I have 2 shots then I make the difference from stroke wipe to 8 and always have 2 putts (as that is my avg around most courses).

The key to using it effectively is trying to work out how to encompass the "tagging" into a pre-shot routine.

That's the biggest thing I found in the first few rounds, it wasn't second nature to tag and then play the shot and I'd finish the round and download the data with missing shots, but the ease in editing a round makes it a bit easier to ease the frustration,

It gives you a lot of things to track and analyse.....its a bit of a reality check for the distances you hit too.

It's a great tool.

Yeah I've only played the two rounds with mine but i'm finding myself tagging before after even running back to tag! I think as you walk into the set up would be the best time to tag.

Yeah saw that think I followed you back. Still waiting on a replacement pw tag for mine. Played Ocean Grove with it last week wow what a fess they've changed the layout and the GG unit doesn't like it at all! holes all over the place makes editing impossible.
