What is your sugar and alcohol consumption like? Cut out the booze and minimise the sugar and fizzy drinks and you will smash it. Good on you for taking a stand.

Oz, I lost 4
Kilos in a month by eliminating breads and sugars. I lost 20 cm overall in about 6 weeks.

Willpower mate
And commitment is all you need to be successful. You should be able to lose good amounts over an 8 week period.

You can do it mate. You started the journey and that's the most important step.

I disagree with your comment about gyms aren't for weight loss. Take a look around next time you step into one.

They aren't exactly filled with trim taut terrific bodies. Gym is a part of the whole weight loss journey. A fat bastard can be a lot fitter than a skinny bastard.

What a crock of ****

I have a ripping HIIT workout that i do in the gym

Like all the things they gym is just one cog in the wheels of weightloss (i should trademark that) resistance training is very important

I would agree that weightloss is 80% what you eat and 20% at max about exercise. I lost 12 kg from 75 to 63 so I wasn't huge, in 3 months, with not a skerick of exercise. As others have said cut out the sugar and starchy foods like bread and pasta and alcohol and it will fall off you.
Breakfast - eggs and veggies. Eg omelet.
Lunch. Salad with plenty of protein like egg chicken and cheese in it. Watch the dressing.
Dinner. Stir fry lean meat and veggies or fish and veggies.
Snacks. 2 fruit a day. Cheese and biscuits or nuts in moderation.
No fruit juice.
Black coffee. No big milky drinks.
Sugar is your enemy and its sneaky. Don't eat anything out of a packet or pre-prepared.

So what. This is about weightloss, not fitness. I'm not saying exercise doesn't help. But there's no point busting your arse in the gym for hours if you go home and eat some **** in 5 minutes that completely destroys any gains you just made.

Weightloss starts in the head, not the gym.

Gooo OZ Bear!

I have mentioned this in the past and will bring it up again.

I have lost 35kgs from 105 down to 70 WITHOUT EXERCISE. Controlling the intake and habitual reach out for that beer/fizzy drink/chips/lollies/whatever your poison is key. Refined sugars are evil and insidious - stay away from that as much as possible.

Why did you set 100kgs as a floor for your weight loss? Want to get an understanding? I can understand setting interim milestone goals but why stop at 100kgs?

If you make some lifestyle changes, then the actual weight loss is arbitrary and your health becomes the winning  outcome.

Best of luck buddy and stay strong!

great start with the thread Oz.  The flu means you can't exercise it doesn't mean you can't diet.  No reason to put things off.

with the trial I took part in we had to detail everything we ate and drank each day.

half a kilo per week is an achievable target.  Once you hit it each week you can get more committed.

if you want to apply some pressure on your good self why not post on here your daily intake, good and bad.

one of the biggest factors is portion sizes.  more rabbit food and less carbs.  watch BREAD, PASTA and POTATOES.

a chicken sniztel roll for lunch doesn't work.  try a salad sandwich instead with an apple and lots of water.  Buy one of the apple packs at the supermarket and keep it on the spare seat in the truck.  When you feel a bit hungry grab an apple.

life was easier for me working in an office.  lunch was a can of tuna in springwater, tomatoes, low fat fetta and olives - luckily things I like.  You might be able to put together some things you like in a lunchbox.

really wish you the best of luck Oz

YOU CAN DO IT !

ps   If you don't, there is a marked absence of volunteers to give you the kiss of life when you keel over.  Snappy is a doctor of something, Goldy fixes tee spikes,  Ari gives green needles to furry animals and Francie can put you down but the rest of us are useless.

Long Live Oz

Should add the secret (and this is huge) to eating right is preparation. Get everything prepared the night before, if you don't and you end up in a hurry you will just reach the the quick hunger fix. Usually a mistake.
