Hi there everyone,

I'm looking to play as many courses apart from my home club as possible in Victoria.

I was wondering if there is a website (or thread on here) that lists all courses in Victoria (both public and private) that allow non members to play their competition's and what fees apply?

I am aware of the well known public course down the peninsula such as Moonah Links and the Dunes etc that have open comps but was hoping there was a place where I could easily see all the course that welcome non members with an official handicap to play in their comps?

Does such a list exist?

Best Regards

That's just about every course except for the 'exclusive' private clubs.

For metro Melb, the VGL list clubs accociated with public courses, most of which will encourage guests to their comps.

Country courses are always welcoming. You might have problems getting a tee time on medal days or if they're running some special event.

Just pick where you want to play and phone the pro shop a week ahead.

Hi Rob,

I'm in Richmond and happy to travel up to two hours for a good course.

Thanks, I wouldn't expect to get on in Medal round in any case but I always prefer a round to count towards my handicap where possible so I love to play in comps.

I have only been playing a year so am very keen to get out and play as many courses as possible and to test myself to improve and hopefully continue to lower my handicap.

Thank you that's fantastic to know. I've just joined the forum so perhaps I will wait until I've posted a bit more to ask to be hosted :)

I'm happy to host at Southern most Sundays (not this weekend though). Green Fees are about $60 on weekends and guests can play in the comp.

A lot of spraying for 130 though :D

Ha I know this feeling as someone who is still learning and just coming up on 12 months of playing the game. Have dropped 12 shots so far but a long way to go to be at a respectable level!

Don't worry about having a high handicap - we were all there once (many still are).

There's a thread in here "I want to arrange a hit now" or something similar.  Jump into that, nominate a couple of courses and the day you want, and mention that you want to play in a comp.

Dropping 12 shots off your cap means you are off 24 max? You're doing alright mate, there are plenty of blokes here who are off that sort of cap that have been playing alot longer than 12 months.
