My object for this thread is to have a spot where people can post those little gems of tips they have heard, maybe many years ago, that they have found really useful. Or links to online coaching that they have found to be spot on. I kind of hope it will end up as a useful eclectic collection of training materials in which everyone will find something of value.

I'm going to kick it off with this video from GMac. I found his way of setting up in a bunker to be spot on - I was way too open- plus the idea of " tipping the sand off the club over the shoulder" gets me into just the right swing.

Best video on hitting driver I've seen that covers secondary spine tilt and getting the shaft pointing at your middle ... basically driver is different to irons .....

Best drill I've used for maintaining body angles through impact ... immediate feedback is very good ...

Rings a bell but I can't remember where that tip comes from and is it for all clubs or just driver as in the images ? What's the rationale for it.

Thanks,

Tricky

Setting up the feet and stance with feet together first is tops, makes for consistent set up every time.

I often doubt that I'm standing the correct distance away from the ball though which he doesn't cover.

Too close and I'll fade or slice, too far away it could go anywhere

Its for all clubs.
Obviously except for chipping.

Not to sure why or how it works. I was hitting huge push/slices and or pull/hooks with driver.

Even my faithfuls were deserting me. Fairway woods and the like. Irons were very hit and miss.

Now that i have gotten used to it, which didn't take long by the way, im hitting driver and all woods extraordinarily straight. Hybrids have never been better, and my irons are back to great.

I'd like to give it a try. How do I go about it, ie; what's the set up - anything more than sticking the leading hip out ? Ta.

At address , my top half was too open, left shoulder was too far back. Push left shoulder forward and this helped reduce the fade/slice. Just have to remember this when I play!!!!!

nice Banksias

I quite like the grass trees or as they were formerly known as black boys.

Looks like they are about to be in flower.  One of ours is at the same stage for the 2nd year in a row.  Fantastic for attracting birds.

When at TAFE, learnt about the Banksia. Such a majestic and unique specimen.

Supposed to be about 7-8* spine tilt.
That one is easy. Just sort of push your hip towards the target a little, then keep leaning away from the target until you nearly fall over.
Do it in front of a mirror, you will see that what feels like a massive tilt actually isn't that much.

I found i could really turn quite hard with my shoulders as well, alot more than before, also a lot easier to get the weight transfer forward, i can really feel my rear foot pushing through

If you mean the one at my left shoulder, its a Cycad.
The other one, the spiny green/blue one is a really nice grass, very much like a Dianella.

The banksias were great.

Yep the blue green.  Very tall hence why I thought it was a grass tree
