Vaguely interested in other people's views on this set up. Tried it today and it went well, although I think I have to look at the ball once I actually swing
( warning - annoying Yank voice )

Ball flight was certainly a little higher and carry was long ( for me) and very good consistency of strike. Overall very impressed.

I'm just pissed off OK? Don't ask.

Should add that I don't necessarily agree with everything he says in this video. But the driver set up idea looked good and worked today. Of course it might not work next time.

I used to do that some years ago (set up the driver to a spot 3" before the ball), but stopped for some reason.  It worked for me then.

I use his setup, saw his video about a year ago and it made a big difference to my accuracy.

Imo it makes perfect sense.

Some good points. The shoulder line one is particularly important IMO. If setting up behind the ball helps with that without hurting your sweet spot contact then go for it.

Setting up the feet and stance with feet together first is tops, makes for consistent set up every time.

I often doubt that I'm standing the correct distance away from the ball though which he doesn't cover.

Too close and I'll fade or slice, too far away it could go anywhere

I've used this type of set-up for ages with driver. I have the driver face about a darts packet distance back from the ball.

To get the correct stance distance from the ball though Sir Top, there is a good guide done by Butch Harmon (from memory).

It involves taking a mid iron and just making swings with your eyes closed, back and forth, making a consistent divot path.

Once you have created a nice divot line, sit the head of your mid iron into the middle of the divot, and take note of the distance from your hands back to your body, and how far your forearms are away from your body etc.

This he explains ...... is your natural swing path.

Once you have the feeling of it .......... you can set up the same with any club, from driver down to wedges etc.

Hope this helps ..... :)

Nice one thanks mate that does sound good and will try it out.

Swung the driver well at Liverpool today, hit most of the fairways, using the above mentioned set up.

Tried it today. Worked very well. Accuracy excellent. Slight loss of distance, but then I wasn't trying to smash the ball.

Col, just remember your spine tilt. Go back to the best tip you've ever heard thread.
Do that, and you are half way to the winners cheque.

Took me a while to ingrain it, but im 6 flags in my last 6 rounds so it must be doing something

the "about" clearly puts this guy as a Canadian, not a yank... but otherwise not a bad little link for a mate of mine that has slice issues.

I rarely slice anymore and it's because of this set up.

Good luck in the medal round!
