Well all I can say is that is one of my best matchplay wins ever.....

Firstly apologies to the blokes house on the 12 hole for the damage to his solar panel....great big vision ball mark right in the middle of the panel....check it out on your next round...it's the single storey house next door to the double about 80m out from the green. For the first 8 holes the match was in the balance but I was battling to be 2 down.

Two silly shots on the next two holes and I was 4 down with 8 to play. A visionary ball change on the first tee to a new nut saved the day. The next 3 holes saw 3 wins and it was game on with 5 to play. The next hole saw a boring half, except for 12 ft put holed for half.

The par 5 6 was an easy win after my opponent meet the trees on the left off the tee. Now All square with 3 to play.

The longish par 3 was next and a poor club selection saw the ball roll back down gully and a ordinary lie in an old divit and a chunked chip quickly killed off hopes of a win or half. 1 down with 2 to play and it all on the line.

The 7th saw a clutch putt holed from 16feet to win the hole and bring the match to all square with the longish par 3 8 to go.

I hit probably the flushed shot of the day on this hole, sticking 6 iron into 16 feet straight behind the flag off the tee, firmly putting the pressure on my opponent.

He hit his shot pin high but off the green to the right with the big Swale to make his approach or putt testing. Sadly I missed the birdie putt but a save two put secured the win 1up and gave team vision golfers a two to one lead with 1 game live.

Our gun number one was 1 up on the same hole, sadly he lost the hole when his opponent dropped a monster putt for birdie, one of many so u am told!

This halfed the match giving us a round 1 win and a great kick off to the season.

I think there are some tough selection decisions coming up for the round at settlers run....can the plasterer and cb80 turn the form on in bush pennant enough to force a team change ahead of round 2? Time will tell on that one.

Hang in there lh. There was some positive signs in the game. You hung in and played tough, many a player would have rolled over and been steam rolled 9&8, the guy you played played well below his handicap and would have beaten me today by a similar score,

Mate i am in good form i played my guts out today and won 2 & 1 after being 2 down after 8.

result team lost but we have made final by 1 game .

The plasterer had a very sad day going down  9 &7 so he has some sole searching to, do big time. Played him at number 1 so not a good game for him.

well done to team Vision a good start to year.

well doen to Littleman and our Gun Darren, and to Wozz in his first real match.

bad luck to Long hitter, all part of the learnign experience of match play.

Thanks to Boz for great gear.

Who's in the team for Settlers? I think I might have a spell and suggest that Littleman, CB, Wozz and Nixon take on the best ranked golfers in the Matchplay.:-)

Are you guys playing the Mor and McNeil team this week? I can't wait to have a crack at the bloke playing off 1, but we aren't playing them until Round4.
