Just a personal story about Luke Beveridge.

This week has been his biggest week in football.  Preparing his players and coaching team for all of the possible permutations and combinations that they may face today.  At the same time he's had the Brownlow night, Coaches Association night and the media wanting him 24 hours a day.

His son played in the winning TAC grand final team Sandy Dragons.  In his incredibly busy week he took the time to congratulate and thank my step-son who is the defence coach of the Dragons and direct coach of Luke's son for the time and effort he has put in to the kid's development.

My step-son, a Swan through and through, was really touched by this.

Luke Beveridge is a legend Bayside and now a legend Nationwide.

Contrast that with Paul Roos son who came through last year.  I will not post about it but feel free to ask me at the Nationals.

Have a read of Bob Murphy's column from yesterday. One of the best things I've ever read on sport.

One of those fairytales the majority of the public wanted and was delivered.

Just brilliant,

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.
