Why close the thread? It's a relevant topic. Maybe move it into Playing the Game? It's not quite as self indulgent as most of the stuff in there but certainly more interesting.

I think a few relevant points about the "lots of random letters trophy" have been missed...

1. It's a pisstake

2. It's a pisstake directed at Frank

3. If it wasn't a pisstake, it would mean that it would be awarded to the person who has scored the most points on average in an OOM, without actually winning one

4. That person would not have to be in A grade...despite the "gradeist" attitude of some...

Goldenthighs, CB80, Muzz, Micky, interested parties, Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, and Co,

I'm quite happy for the title to go to the person, according to your above criteria, which in effect, is what the criteria was at it's conception, and birth.

The only proviso we put in place, was a certain number of games played .... to avoid a first gamer having a blinder (and not winning) ......... and then never seeing them again. (Frank at the time was way ahead in the calculations, so would take some catching)

Oh, this may also be timely ..........

Should a grade win (Not an overall OOM win) preclude you from "The best never to" trophy? (That was a consideration we also had in place)

Anyway if you want to do the calculations, by all means do so ........ but I'd recommend keeping at least a min number of games requirement.

Without looking, I still figure Frank would be right up there, in any calculations ..... if not winning it.

Oh, and who is this Pete prick that you lot keep talking about??? :)

Speaking of trophys, what happened to the NTP markers that Muzz made?
The balls with big spikes in them?
They were great, and didnt leave such massive holes in the greens

They are here in the iSG game day box, along with the BPNTHWAOOM trophy.

Totally my fault I forgot to bring them to Le Frogge.

we did however loose two of the ball spikes after the settlers game ,(last groups do forget to pick them up with markers sometimes) so down to only 3 ball spikes.

Kiwi if you dont mind could you make another 3 ball spikes only (1 spare).

I will get you the Vison balls to use. dont want to use good pro softs.

Another suggestion for a trophy is Change the name of trophy  (Muzzas idea lets re incarnate the old putting cup )and make it worth playing for and have the trophy presented at the end of year on awards day and based on score for that year. in other words it becomes a perpetutual trophy.

Scoring for this new trophy should be along lines of Fedex cup but instead it will be

ISGVIC (insert sponsors name here - I have one in mind just need to sell idea to them) cup ,

ie  receive points based on where finish relative to position in field.

so at le Frogge 59 players =59 points available

1st Notup not in 59 pts, JRG, 58 Tigerblood 57, Wozz 56,. down to Oz who gets 1 point.

Then scoring is easy to manage and record and based on size of field and how many others you beat home on the day ,not necessarily on Stableford scores.

Iam sure this scoring system will give us a different winner than the overall OOM winner. Because a player eg kickithome could play consistant good handicap golf, 34 to 36 points each OOM, never win an OOM maybe pick up a third along way but still beat home 3/4 of the field each OOM event. surely that consistancy has to be recognised.

Also rewards good performance made during winter OOM games, where stableford scores might not be as high.

Of course 3 OOM's would be minimum qualifying games required to win this Cup

just an idea for discussion becaue if we are going to have another trophy at least have easy to understand rules and one where more players than just frank a chance to win.
