And I'm not going to lie, I lol'd out loud just then and didn't expect any less

I'm going to openly admit something here. After going public with my apathy for your golfing performance, there was a seed of doubt for a short while this afternoon where I did find myself wondering "what score exactly did bump shoot in Fiji".

I do believe after I laid down it went away, but it would be unfair to hold on to the image I presented that I truly had zero interest. It's an inaccurate position to take.

So, as previously discussed my first outing with my clubs since January.

The take home from my January game was that I was sort of fanning right my 80-100m sand wedge shots so I took extra care to make sure I came down and across the ball properly. I hit 20 balls before the game and paid a bit of focus to that.

I wore black pants, a royal blue belt and an orange shirt.

There was some fears that without carts being allowed, that Dad wouldn't play, but as the weather is so regularly beautiful up here, it was perfect for golf - be it, quite sticky.

First hole was a yay long par 5, I hit thinnish hybrid, then a 6 iron to lay up about 100 out, it was my first chance to hit a proper sand wedge shot, I opted for a pitching wedge knock down instead...and over corrected the fanning and turned it over left to be just off the green. Easy up and down for a 5.

from memory, I then went par, bogey, bogey, par, par, wash, par par - no, hang on there must have been another bogey in there somewhere for 6 over.

Shots of note on the front was being witness to Pants' 294m drive.

I was sitting at 15 points, with a bit of work to day.

Starting the back none, there was a 240odd par 4. I smashed driver as high as I possible could, it did fall a little to the right and was just off the green, pin high, but nestled down in some nice thick rough. I could only manage to pop it up to just on the green, then went two putts from there, I was happy enough with the par but would have been dirty with anything worse from there.

two birdies and must have been three bogeys for a 1 over and 20 point back nine.

That was enough to secure me the second runner up in a row, and second lowest gross in a row - one more lowest gross and I will get myself 20 bonus points in the Gravy Cup.

Jeeze I wish I played more.

The total of the front nines I have played this year is 6 over, 7 over and 6 over for 26 over and my back nines are square, square, 1 over, for 1.

definitely a stayer not a sprinter

the second nine we played we definitely an 'easier' nine with the reachable par 4 and a couple of reachable par 5s, but it is somewhat helpful knowing that I can still shoot square on the back if I blow out a bit on the front.

and I dare say, due to the fellas who chose to walk yesterday, our DSR was nice and high yesterday which meant I had a played to of 4.5.

and back to Pants, I there is maybe one or two blokes I know who can genuinely and consistently tag driver past me and when he got them, Pants was killing me.

Genuine length with his driver

hey dumbarse, that equals 19

where's you get 26 from?

I reckon you were including your last game from last year weren't you and then changed the extents to make it look better didn't you? that's what you did, you tried to make yourself look better on the back nines by counting less games and now you look like you can't add up and appear to well and truly look like a dumbarse. Maybe you should check what you write before you hit post

Hi there, long time listener, first time caller.

I had a spare hour to myself this morning, so I frocked up smartly and made my way to my defacto home club for a spot of putting for the first time since I've had it cut down. I've only had the putter for a few months so getting it cut down to about 33 1/2 to what I like, no need to rush these things.

I made my way through the big fancy-arsed gates and saw a million little tackers playing on the putting green. There was obviously some clinic on.
So the next best thing was to go back past my house to another close by course and use their putting green instead.
With the piss-farting around between courses, I only got about 45 minutes of actual putting, but I'm really happy with the length of it now.

I thought I would try and sneak in some practice, there's a big chance I've got two games this month so it's all very exciting.
