No, I didn't win the comp. I played with my 10 year old son in his very first comp game. He had 26 points off his 36 handicap. Very proud father.

What a great age to take up golf. Well done.

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

I know the feeling. Played yesterday with my daughter, I played crap, she played really well. She's really keen to play as much as she can, so I get to spend more time with her, and play more golf.

I'm so jealous. My 10yo son has had a couple of junior clinics after which he has said.....Dad, I don't really want to play golf  :(

I've only got my 3yo left.....he's the hope of the side. We just got back from Officeworks and my wife had given him a roll of coloured paper to hold on to. As soon as we got inside he started swinging it like a golf club trying to hit his toys around the lounge room  :D

We're just back from round 2. He improved by 1, so 27 points for his second ever comp day. His claim to fame today was two pars, one of which was on a par 3 where I made a bogey. The little sod held his arms in the air when he realised he beat me on the hole. I guess I had better get used to it.

My best days are always the ones spent playing with my two
teenage sons. The older one has been playing since he was nine and is now a 6 handicapper. Over the years we've had a bunch of
trips away playing in Hawaii, Palm Springs and the Monterey Peninsula and watching him go around Pebble Beach playing off the
back tees and shooting 84 was as good a day I've ever had on a golf course (I won't mention my score that day).
Over the years I've played with a lot of guys who'd love it if their kids would take up the game, but you can't force it, its a hard game and they've got to want to be out there. Early lessons are crucial and if they are fans of the pro tours and watch
a lot of golf on TV (as we do) it makes them think of golf as
part of their lifestyle and not just a game.

Jnr woods just played Pebble Beach this week. All I get is a shitty tshirt :( :( :( .

Ahhh, I remember the days of taking the three boys out onto the course. After about 5 holes there was infighting and crap happening. Trash talk was frequent and most times funny. Players storming off, hitting each other's golf balls. Classics!!!!
Glad he stuck with playing golf, only wish is that his little bother played more often. He has talent to burn.
