Enjoy the team aspect and the experience

Good thing is that given their previous performance you can't get too much crap if you don't win your game!

Thanks man you make a very good point. The team aspect is what interested me the most. Haven't played a team sport for many years now and let's face it, I'm in no condition to start running around playing footy or baseball anymore.

advice for matchplay -

1. don't be that karnt who tries to play games. It doesn't make you win, all it does it make you look like a loser.

But I don't think the babyfaced Mr-C is capable of even trying to be that karnt so you'll be sweet.

2. Always try and make them play the next shot after you've hit yours. Do what you can to not hit your shot twice in a row - watching you hit two or three shots in a row takes all the pressure off their next shot.

3. Enjoy it!!

I plan on it. At the very least, I'll be playing a new course and meeting new club mates.

Thabks man, this baby face has a dark side but my pennant debut is probably not going to be the place it surfaces.

Clubs cleaned, best undies and socks clean and ironed. New shorts purchased and all ready for my pennants debut. Little bit excited.

Well, wasn't the best day out. Lost 4 & 2 and just didn't really get going at all. Started really nervous, Fitbit had my heart rate at 137 for most of the front nine and that's probably why I wasn't sinking putts. Missed 4 putts that would have won or halved holes on the front and made the turn down 2.
Back 9 was more of the same, good drive bad approach or bad drive and scramble to halve the hole. Lost 2 holes and was 4 & 5 won the 14th with a huge drive and wedge to 3ft and absolutely butchered the 15th for a half. Dormie 3. Simple par 3, 155m. Duck hooked my 6i and lost the hole. Sigh.

Was good fun and great experience, met some guys I'd seen around the club and everyone got behind each other which was nice. Didn't help though as we got smoked 9-2 to end the road trip. 2 home games coming up, hopefully I get a chance to play again.

Taking it to dormie 3 when you are not going well is a good effort. Experience will settle the nerves. How many shots did you have to give your opponent?

Bit of good sportsmanship on my behalf, twice, yesterday. Once, opponent was about to putt but hadn't replaced his marker after moving it offline. Asked him if he replaced it and he putted from correct position. 2nd time was opponent was about to tee off out of turn and I reminded him of correct order.

I'm a prick but I wouldn't have felt comfortable winning some bush league holes that way.
