One step forward two steps back. Net 82 today at Arundel. 22 off the first two holes. Had a patch of Form in holes 3,4,5,6,7 where I was 4 over. Started the back 9 with a tap in par. Hit two really food shots, then followed it up with a 9. Ugh why why why does my Form go up and down so much? I swear my swing just packed up and left. Not sure if I'll get a game this week before I go back to work. Maybe hit the range. Anyway..... It's why we love the game right?

Matt on the weekend at Robina I started 8/0 8/0, then had 5/4. Scored on every hole on front 9. Then went 1,0,1,0. Our game does pack up midway through our rounds, but that's were our concentration levels suffer. Just try and approach each shot on its merit, and your cap will drop for sure. You suffer from not enough regular golf, like me. I'm slowly accepting my bad shots ( there are a few), but for us choppers it's just take each shot outcome for what it is. Good luck in your goal chase.

Think of it this way Matt, take out the first two holes and you played well! So good comeback and there is good golf still there.

Stroke can be painful and there is nowhere to hide a bad hole(s).

Perspective though, if you take out your two 9's and 13 and even replace them with double bogies (assuming they are par 4's) and you end up with nett 69. I'd take that.

I had to learn early on to take my medicine and increase my course management skills. Here was me trying for an extra 15m through the tress (Insanity!!)

Even after I thought my course management was sound....it wasn't.

You'll bounce back.

Cheers mate, I think I let it all get to me on the first. Have been wanting to play Arundel for so long, first hole, snap hook into the driving range. Reload and whack it into the trees on the right. shank shank and thats my day done.apart from that, the next and a couple of others, yeh I guess I can be pretty happy with the way I played.

Yeh there were a lot of IF'S but I guess thats the progression of a chopper to OK golfer. Yes I'll agree thats where I was lacking. course management. Mind you, when you shank it there is no place to hide. I've taken my medicine, will head to the range this afternoon and work on a few things and try and convince the boss to let me play again tomorrow before I have to go back to work on Saturday.

Range day, started off like a rusty gate. Seriously it was only a week ago I couldn't go wrong. Anyway a few wedge shots and a couple of irons I went to old faithful that departed me on Tuesday. 3 wood. After a few ugly shots, got my rythem back, my swing back on plane and realised I was leaning forward on my backswing and then leaning back during my swing. Corrected that then went back to irons, was middling everything. Even able to draw my 4 iron. Went up to driver and turned into a spastic again. I seriously can't hit it. Think I may need a new shaft. My 3w is a reg flex TM stock. Currently my R1 driver is running a stock TM stiff shaft. Dunno why but I bought some gear online without testing, before I knew I could do that sort of stuff. Am booking in to get a fitting next time I'm home so will get them to check it out.

Depends a lot on the DSR, was the DSR high?

First game in over 5 weeks tomorrow. Haven't even been able to swing a club let alone the range. This could go one of two ways.

My game plan will be, extra club, 3/4 swing. Play straight and short where possible.

Colonial off the blues.
