Yes, another one of these but fark it, everyone else has one. So I have finally started to get my handicap heading in the right direction πŸ‘‡ have shaved 1.2 shots in the last two rounds down to 24.8. I know that's still high but I am a chopper and sat on 29 for 18 months. I have 6 flagged rounds due to drop off in the next 10 rounds I am wondering if I can get to 20 by the end of the year. Thing is, I work FIFO so do not get to play every week. Sometimes I'm away for 6 weeks at a time. I know I'll be home in November and just before Xmas and will have 2 more comp rounds next week. So I reckon I should have 6-10 comp rounds by end of year. Can it be done?

It can be done for sure. Hit a club that finds the fairway, distance isn't a factor off 24.8, staying out of trouble is.

Yep today really reaffirmed that. Hit my 3 wood off the tee most of the day and only missed 2 fairways. Just need to make sure I don't waste the good Form n

Righto Matt,

How are you going to get there?

Where do you leak shots currently? Short game, off the tee?

Hero shots?

You have similar difficulties to me in that you work a fifo roster. Generally by the time I go back to work I have just started to find some touch around the greens.

Yes it can be done, we all started with high handicaps. getting down to 20 is not that hard doing it in the time you have selected is all up to the consistency of your game. Go for it any way.

Mate generally it's off the tee that I struggle and iron play has been my strongest. But recently my woods have been strong and my irons, especially on par 3's,have been very inconsistent. I scramble pretty well for a high capper and my putting is usually pretty good. Although yesterday I had a few shockers yesterday. Just miss reads and lifting of head. I have started to hit some really good shots and can string together a few holes but then it goes to rubbish. Slowly minimising the rubbish to one or two holes and if I can keep that trend going I think I can keep dropping that cap.

Cheers. That's the main thing. Consistency. Need to keep to a routine with ALL my shots. That's where I struggle I think. Just go up and whack it instead of preparing properly.

Gooo Matty!!

mate, with your swing I am confident you will get down to 12 if you had the time and confidence.

One of the nicest, smoothest controlled looking swings I have seen in a long time!!

You can do it!!
