So you threatened your putter with being retrenched and it came good.

You must have given it a formal written warning.

Maybe my process of just throwing them in the corner isn't the right approach.

Nah, I actually replaced it.  At least for the first round, I think I putt better with the Ping.

So to our game at Rosebud for the OOM.  The weather was a bit iffy, and about the 9th and 10th for us it was quite unpleasant.

I played okay without particularly shining.  Hit some lovely shots, including a great approach in to 6 which allowed me to drop a birdie - I think the only time I have managed that on that hole.  But it was bracketed by a couple of wipes and two more for the day.

I again fell victim to the curse of realising that if I just managed two points coming in that I would have a decent score, so promptly wiped the 17th after a poor chip and then managed only one point on the 18th, to finish with 29.

Had driver in the bag again and though I thought I was swinging it alright, was still sending it right with some regularity.  Will leave it in the bag for next week, but if it continues to behave in that manner, it might be back to the drawing board.  Gamegolf tells me that with driver I hit fairway 50% of the time and the other 50% all missed right.  Had taken it to the range on Saturday and was seeing the same shot shape, but thought I had figured out how to tame it.  More work to be done.

Really enjoyed the course yesterday Lt Dan. The trees were really only in play on a couple of holes and the conditioning was superb.

It has a real point of difference to some of the other Peninsula Courses. Really liked the set up of the 8th and 9th holes, and the 13th was my pick of the par 3's.

Nice walk yesterday Dan and quite honestly the driver wasnt too bad, in fact if I remember correctly on the 6th, your birdie chance came from the right rough, blind shot over Crest which trickled nicely into the green and about 8 ft from the pin.

The only real catastrophic effort off the tee was the short Par 4 on our back 9 where you topped it all of 30m left of the tee, into the valley of death.

All in all you held it together rather well and despite a few brain fart moments with your short game namely hole 17 and a few others 5 or 6 extra points would have been easily within reach.

Driver was ok, but good to remember that if you hit the fairway it is to your credit, and if you miss right it is johns fault.
