Hook Norton Brewery, Old Hooky, Haymaker and Twelve Days. All pretty serious gear. Twelve Days is a nice rich chocolatey dark ale, Old Hooky is a rich fruity ale and Haymaker is a pale with a big punch of bitterness. Liked them a $5ish, love them at $3 (500ml). Really good winter beers.

like the sounds of the  twelve days peak_sy ... love my dark ales and porters and stouts this time of year and you could also place a few good solid wheat bears in that as well...

I've been clearing out any BWS I go past. Works out at great value, about equivalent of $45/slab. Hopefully they stay on special (1/2 price) for a while. Serious beer, but smashable, just my type of thing.

Warning You can no longer get this beer people

I have still a couple of single batch brews from  little creatures "The Quiet American" still lying around...

The Quiet American is a hybrid beer  based between a American pale ale  and Belgium trappist style beer

IBU of this beer is 55  and its alcohol base is 7.2%  a pretty heavy beer considering moste ales average around 5%

this beer used chinook and cascade hops  and  used a Belgium yeast strain with Belgium specialty malts

This beer isn't for everyone however it was a great blend between to  countries in 1 bottle and would make a great  winter beer...

As I said  this beer is no longer in production and I would probably only be the one that still has 2 stubbies left in Australia.

Tried a Fat Bastard, scotch style ale.

Different, very heavy on flavours, nice for two or three but think is struggle to drink more than that, just to full on with the flavour
