Whilst we have a drinking thread it doesn't have much focus on wine which is certainly my drink of choice, especially in winter.  How about sharing information on wines, especially not mainstream brands, that you have enjoyed recently.  Nothing wanky just what tastes good and what you ate with it.

Rabbit and Spaghetti Barossa Valley Shiraz 2013 - with, of course, pasta.  Young Shiraz that is not too heavy but full of fruit.

I'm a Peter Lehmanns devotee, red drinker...Stonewall Shiraz for VERY special occasions, Eight Songs Shiraz or Mentor Cabernet for special occasions, Futures Shiraz for nice meal, Portrait Shiraz or Cabernet for every day and the Clancy's triple blend for quaffing (excellent value) then finish off with (what else but) "The King AD 2021" vintage port.

Actually blue cheese is better with stickies like De Bortoli's Noble one in my opinion.  If you haven't already done so give that a try Tol.  Stickies are really interesting for food matching - traditionally in Perigord it is matched with Fois Gras for instance.

Have you heard of Get Wines Direct OB ?  They have plenty of buy 1 get 1 free dozen deals.  They have a tasting room in Burnley St Richmond if you are up in town.  You can get some great quaffers at a good price compared to the 2 litre offerings.

Aldi 2L @ $12 = $4 per bottle.  Christ! That's just about down to wino pricing.  What have I become?
