Played Dorset golf club today was pretty soggy after the rain yesterday, havent picked up a club since narooma , set myself to just swing easy play steady .
First tee shot nice easy swing carved a big slice out onto the tenth ,hacked my way across fairways and thru trees for a doubley bogey 7 great start.Had a 2 putt par on the second ,hit a sweet 4 iron off the tee on 3 and hacked it up for a bogey.Birdied the fourth rolled a long putt.So i have gone dbl,par bogey,birdie-nice steady golf - finished with 19 pts for the nine .
Second nine had 2 birdies and a double bogey finished with 20 pts total of 39.
Overall i had 5 one pointers no wipes no 3 putts .Although i did take 3 to get down from the fringe or just off the green 3 times.
Have checked golf link and i had a played to 10.1 (dorset is par 69 dsr 66) which means i drop off a 13 flag.Giving me a new g a of 9.3 so achieved what i set out to do today. Will be off 9 at dorset next week will still be 10 at a course with a slope in the 120,s but i suppose technically i am there for at least a couple weeks till a flag drops off.

Geee have'nt had the opportunity to play with you yet rjp' but have you been watching my game?    ;)     I'm on 9.4 and last time I got to 9 I quickly slid back out to double figures as I couldn't play consistently from then on.   That's going to be my goal over the next month or so....especially during the colder/wetter months

Consistency and no dummy spits are the key i think .Is going to be tough am far from consistent and have been know to have the odd dummy spit. Will have to organise a game am playing heritage and will try to get to sandhurst and settlers games later on as well

Scary time at the driving range hit nearly everything out of the middle concerned I might have used all my good shots up

Played dorset this morning off 9 first time in 15 yrs I reckon , hooked my first drive but not too badly managed a par , snap hooked my 2nd drive then fluffed a chip then 3 putted for double , stood on 3rd tee , thinking here we go took 3hybrid hit it dead straight bout 210 mts , big shock . Hit good drive on 4 and good pitch , managed 18 pts for the 9 with 3 one pointers , back nine wasn't great started hooking again , hit some shocking drives , managed to straighten them out by 14 but then started stuffing up around the greens , managed a four putt after hitting a good second shot to recover a bad drive , bladed a couple pitch shots as well . 14 points back nine for total of 32 pts
Not a great day but was happy I could rectify the snap hooks should be no harm done to handicap
