Well it's about time I started a thread for the new home of Tigerblood Inc.

For those of you that don't know Gardiners Run have just completed works on a new Par 72 course out in Lilydale, it's on the same road as Yering and Eastern, if your familiar with the area it's next to Lilydale Cemetary.

Formerly known as Chirnside Park Country Club, they did the fashionable thing and sold off their land and moved out slightly further to build a much better course.

It's a private club but is pretty well open to the public, although it's still members only o. Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sunday mornings.

I hope once they are up and running they can deliver a course to similar standards as Growling Frog.

Membership is only $1200 a year so will be interesting to see what they can present conditioning wise.
They have made the decision to outsource the grounds keeping so the same mob that look after The Frog are looking after Gardiners.

Iv been warned by email this week that while the front 9 is pretty well ready to go the back 9 is a little bit behind and the greens will be slow. I'm assuming they don't want to cut and roll just yet.

I'll post an update after the first round on Saturday, just wanted to start a thread to get a bit of awareness going for the club and I can answere anyone's queries in here.

I see its a Phil Ryan design, assume it will be chock full of Phil Ryan signature mounds,

I hope the didn't use the same poxy earthworks contractor as they did on their Kooringal and Sunshine projects.

Not too sure mate but yeah there will be mounds, more so around the hazards I believe to try and keep balls in play.

He did Waterford Valley so if it comes out as good as that I'll be happy.

I applied for a position on the green staff down there. Scored another role up here so had to turn down their interview offer. Was keen to have a crack at working on bent grass greens. From the pictures I've seen, it looks very very nice. Hope you enjoy your golf there TB. hopefully you can post the odd pic or two as well.

Weather looks shite this weekend so maybe next week!
I just hope the club have enough money to appropriately look after bent grass greens, they can get away from you pretty quick.

Yes from what I researched they can die in front of your eyes from the heat. They should have the money, wasn't there a land swap deal or something??? I applied for the position of leading hand. It took a while for things to happen, over Xmas and new year, which is expected. Good luck and hope you score low as you can.

Tigerblood

you seem to go through memberships like I go through beer and I go through a lot of beer believe me...

so are tyou going to keep ya membership long enough to see the entire curse at its best with all holes up and running???

that aside

it looks as if its going to be a ripper of a course

however I can not understand how you say this is going to be a private course but its going to allow  public to play it

I would imagine it to be more a semi private

like clubs like Baccus marsh, sunshine etc

I AM ALWAYS FORCED TO DO SH1T I'M NOT QUALIFIED FOR. LIKE BEING NICE TO BLOODY ID1OTS :P :D
