alright, I think it's only about 15 belts, but some of them are duel sided

I thought duels were very much 19th century Bump. But then again these engineers that design "duel" carriageways understand the battle commuters fight every day.

At 5 sets of irons and 5 bags you're a serious contender. You've got Gaz covered including his right hand set and tea chest of goodies.

5 irons / 5 bags .... is that all you have to offer pfft?

I'd start with 10 drivers (that's a conservative estimate), half a dozen 3W's, 8 or 9 wedges, etc etc. :)

Putted like a spud all day after 3 jabbing the first. Two 3 jabs and One up n down on each side.

Shank, thin, thin wipe frominside 60m for 2 on the par 5 7th. Pretty much all over after the front with 13 points and then a 3 jab 1 pointer on 10.

Then the driver clicked into gear and I hit cracking drives on the rest. 3 jabbed GIR on 13 after taking on the water for a change. GIR par on 14. Great up n down on 15. 20m short of the green on 16 and crap chip for GIR par. GIR par on 17 after a poor 2nd left me 160m out and I put a hybrid to 10'. Went for GIR on 18 and stuffed up 6-1.

Only thing that was really consistent all day was bunker play. I'm getting closer with bunker shots than with chips. Also played 3 out of 3 lovely flop shots from poor positions.

20 points on the back just to show the doubters I can fight back if I choose to grind out a round. Normally, I can't be bothered and choose to practice instead. I fail to see the point of grinding when you're not going to get a flag anyway. Much better value in trying things out for future improvement.

Tomorrow of course is a day for grinding as I take down stabber. He'll be hitting his old fart low running 3 wood all day as he's got no control with the driver on a still day never mind 50 kph winds.

Not going to be cold and rain will probably happen after we finish so no wimping out.

Hoping they learn from Monday's fiasco and don't put pins on slopes where the ball will just blow off the green. If not the course may well have to be closed.

Playing off the big boy tees means the usual Saturday custard DSR so even 32 points should flag. The important thing is to get Koiom's little mate involved. He's been quiet in recent contests.

This makes zero sense. What are you "trying out" that would actually be useful in a round where you are playing well? Driver off the deck again?

Or are you actually just going for greens and not laying up?

Driver off the deck on 16 almost home in 2. 3 flop shots where I could've chipped to a safe part of the green away from the flag. Going for the green from fairway bunker on 10. Going for the green on 11 with 3w. Taking on the water on 13.

So mostly just things a normal golfer would do playing stableford where you can't really **** up a hole too badly anyway.

Just goes to show your normal game plan is flawed and geared towards mediocre scores.

Sometimes you have to try out really crazy tactics like this.  You never know what might come of it.
