Tochakka project 55

The second nine started off with a par and then a chip in birdie out of bunker, the next hole was doomed for a double bogey but a good putt saw me walk off with a bogey 6. The next hole was absolute garbage and after a brain fade or rush of the red mist I walked off with a 10 and took a couple holes to settle down and finished par, par, bogey ,double and finished with 48 off the stick for a total of 88 nett 77.
Handicap dropped from 9.2 to 9.0 and the recent tuneup is helping the overall game and hopefully I can get back on track.

I wiped the first hole after hitting into the trees and stuffing the hole up then started to play better and finished the nine square with some good short irons helping the confidence for the rest of the day.
The back nine was similar and a couple birdie chances went begging but overall I was happy with how I was playing and finished 1 up for the nine to finish 1up for the day.
Some of the wedges from 100 metres in were on the money and gave me some birdie putts which I could not convert but gave me confidence in my irons.
The handicap yo-yo continues and it’s now 9.1.

The back nine was going ok until I put one in the bunker and had a fried egg and messed the hole up but walked off with 6 on a par 4. I did scramble a couple of pars on the way home and I finished with 85 nett 75.
Driving was good today with the wind blowing all day and the wedges were not as deadly as Sunday but I was playing ok golf.
Handicap dropped to 9.0 and still a few flags dropping off so the yo-yo may continue.

The putter was playing the game and a couple of long putts gave me confidence in my putting.
My handicap yo-yo continues and it’s now 9.2.

Today I played at Tatura at hilltop golf course and worse than yesterday with a 88 nett 76 but it’s only day 1 of the Victorian Senior championships and play at Shepparton tomorrow and again on Wednesday. It was only a couple bad shots that hurt today but it took a few holes to get used to the quicker greens but hopefully I can improve the next couple days and get my handicap back down.

A couple of changes I have made are adjusting the driver from 10.5 degrees to 12.5 degrees and have found the higher launch has not affected My total length of drives (so far) but on windy days it might be an issue but I will see how I go.
I started using titleist AVX ball and compared to a pro v it might be a shorter in length with irons but does sit down and not roll out but a couple more games will see if it is the ball or me.
Handicap is now 10.2.

There were some putts that I missed that could have seen the score better but that’s golf but a couple of good 4 wood hits has given me confidence to play better(hopefully). The increased loft of the driver has so far been positive but a few more games is needed to prove either way the benefits of increased loft.
Handicap is now 10.1

The second nine looked promising when I birdied the 2nd par 3 with a skulled 6 iron but followed it up with a double bogey and was still playing to my handicap and the next couple holes I was still playing to my handicap and then mucked up the 8th par 3 ( 180 metres) with a double bogey, the last time I played it I over clubbed and finished 20 metres or so over the back and this time I tried to play safe, and finished with a bogey on the last for 44 off the stick on a par 37 for 85 nett 73.
Handicap moved from 10.1 to 10.5.
